Acrylic Pouring on Vases | How to Finish Your Vase

This is a video on how I seal my vases. There are many ways you can do it, this is simply what I do.

Thanks MMG for all the great videos! I recently poured a mini vase (with a very small 1” opening. I have 2 questions maybe you can answer. How long do I need to let the paint dry before spraying with the Rustoleum? Is it like a canvas that has to cure for weeks? And I couldn’t find a way to elevate such a small vase so I just didnit flat on the silicone mat so I could make skins with the drippings. Do you know a way to elevate it so it can be done over canvas where I can move it after to make a picture?? I so appreciate your help and all the awesome videos! Also just bought Stone Countertops resin. Can’t wait to try it!

Your vases are simply beautiful. I'm about to try my first one with some left over acrylic paints. Does the paint-pour technique completely cover the neck of the vase evenly, or did you have to do something extra/at the end?

Those are beautiful! I have done a couple vases myself , just learning. My vases are sticking to surfaces after I did the pour and let them dry for days then sprayed with rust oleum clear gloss. What did I do wrong?

Do you prefer resin or the spray coat? I imagine resin holds up better, but the Rustoleum seems to cover better

Definitely resin :) I found in certain climates the rustoleum would stay a bit sticky, which was no good

You always use a matte seal on the vases if you want keep them matte. They do look nicer with a shiny seal.

If you don't like the outcome of a vase after its painted and sealed, can you do a different pour on top of it? I messed up on one and was curious.

I would wash it and paint again as opposed to painting over it. If you soak it in water for a minute the paint will come right off

I used the enamel and then did just a clear coat to try and get it to look shiny, the enamel made it look matte.. After it sitting on the table for a couple hours it "stuck" to the table. Any advice?

Hi!! So for my first trial, the vase ended up beautiful but after applying the enamel spray and letting that dry it left it a bit sticky to the touch and other surfaces instead of a smooth and glossy feeling. How would I fix that for my next trial?

How did you clean the vase before sealing it, or did you? I cleaned my vase with alcohol, then painted it, then when it was very dry I followed another artists instructions and the paint peeled off. I cleaned it gently with a solution of warm water, a bit of alcohol and dish soap. Seems to work well on the canvases, but of course, when I think about, the glass items will peel! So, how do you deal with the enamel not wanting to stick to the silicon?

enamel will eat the acrylic paint. Had a lot of my work ruined by using enamel on acrylic.
