Acrylic Pouring String Pull Abstract Floral Painting

Using acrylic pouring and the string pull technique, we made this brightly colored abstract painting. Check out the satisfying video and the beautiful outcome!
Friends, the colors we used in this fluid painting video are so bright and beautiful, we just love them! The final result is a rather abstract one, we pictured a flower, we're really curious - what do you see?
We've once again played with the acrylic pouring technique, but this time we also tried the string pull. As you can see in the video, we used canvas, acrylic paint that was previously mixed with floetrol, water, and a few drops of silicone*, a cooking torch, and a few pieces of string.
*FYI, the proportions are:
1 oz of acrylic paint
1 oz of floetrol
0.5 oz of water
A few drops (4-5) of silicone fluid
We were so happy to find these bright colors, we couldn't wait to try them in one of our art projects!

Notice how the pink, which is poured at the top, ends up being the most prominent color. That's important if you decided to do this. Also notice the prominence of the other colors in the painting depend on where they were originally poured; also important.

@Butterbee I’m an Art student in college, and I’m telling you that this painting was FAR from talent.. It’s nicely done, but there’s no skill involved. Anybody can pull a bit of string across some paint and create a pretty picture. I’m not trying to be rude, I’m just saying, you shouldn’t worship someone for doing basic arts and crafts techniques, you could learn in 10 minuets in school.

For this pulling technique do you HAVE to use floetrol and silicone? Or can we just use acrylics mixed with some water to make the acrylic paint more fluid? Also I dry my paintings with a hair dryer when needed. Is the torch necessary? Thanks in advance. Loved the video, it turned out gorgeous. ❤

Hi! You can leave out the silicone if you don't really care about the cells within the paint, but floetrol is necessary. The torch is only used for forming the cells, so if you're gonna leave out the silicone, you no longer need the torch. Thank you for your support and sorry for the late reply! 😍

@@GoMIXChannel Thanks for that info! QUESTIONS.....Is floetrol easily found at craft store such as Hobby Lobby and Michael's, could I even find it in the craft section at Walmart? And is it expensive? Also, when you use the torch at the end, would you recommend that I use my hair dryer on low setting as I usually do? Or would using a hair dryer mess up the final look of the painting...and therefore should I let this dry naturally?
