is it me or the Gauntlet rewards are far better than 7.2 ??

Sort of - 7.2 is paying you on each lane in each mission too though, so you're getting 6x T5b, 6x T2A, 6x 1/2 of a T2A, 6X 6* shards, 6x gold, and 6x 90 units. Total is 6 T5B, 9T2A (this should still higher STILL), 540 units, 9k 6* shards, and 600k gold... Plus your initial clear is 25% T5CC frag, 6* R1-R2 gem, 10 6* sig stone crystals, 10k 6* shards, 1M gold AND when you 100% it you get a small amount of T3A, T6B, 25% T5CC selector, two 25% t5cc frags, a 6* nexus crystal, 20 generic 6* sig stones, 10 sig stone crystals, and another million gold. And this is for content that the really good players are doing itemless or nearly itemless. The closest to itemless I've seen people do Gauntlet is MSG doing no revive runs, but I think he still needed heals and he's probably the best player in the world (or close enough to use as a representative of what you'd expect for the "best player in the world" to be able to do in GG). To do GG completely, there's a few roadblock fights, so while there's some different options, and champs like Magneto can cover a LOT of problems, if you don't have an answer for one of them you're just hosed for now. To do 100% of 7.2 you're much less restricted, imo.

Also this seems to be in line with their general shift in approach from requiring a miserable amount of pain from story mode to shifting it to story mode being for "everyone" (I mean, you still have to BEAT it and have a decent roster to explore it) and then stuff like SoP, Carina's Challenger, and GG being semi-optional for the insane people who want to feel their fingernails fall off from playing.
