As I delve into the teachings of Stoicism, I experience a profound sense of liberation from the confines of my own thoughts. It's as though I'm discovering an inner voice that has always been there, yet was muted by my conditioning. The timeless wisdom of Stoic philosophy resonates within me, bridging the gap across time and space, as if speaking directly to my soul. I eagerly anticipate a future where I, too, embody these principles, becoming a beacon of understanding and insight. My aspiration is to find a fellowship of genuine Stoics, a community where I can share and grow in this journey. This is my heartfelt hope and earnest desire.

All these principles are very useful for appreciating life and relationships, living accordingly with one's goals, being authentic and autonomous. The "guilt as a curse" is also very interesting. We were taught to feel guilt when, instead, we should be taught to be conscious of our mistake and avoid it next time. The "avoid toxic people" is very important. It's not easy with family members and close friends, yet it is a basic one for a better life.

Stoic mind: The beginning of the video is so true and for me it was "The family" that always hindered me. It's sad to have that happen from sisters and brothers before me. That was my journey growing up was to fight their envy of me. It can really mess you up and stump your growth in life. I know my mom was a narcissist and she hated me for being so sensative and so I wasn't able to have feelings in a way or a voice to speak out, so to be listened to. She hated seeing herself in me.

These people are called narcissists they are sick! This is often caused by trauma in the early years of their lives. That’s why the world is like it is. It’s a pity that ‘normal’ people always have to be on their guard and can’t be themselves. Perhaps there should be more attention to trauma.

Yes, I'm one who likes to hear myself say it, even though he ignores it. You know why? Because I have to keep myself in check with being fluent when I'm not with the abuser. If we don't exercise following through in speech, it can cause gaps in our speech growth when we are with normal human beings (he's not all human) and therefore, I need to say it and hear it.

If Marcus A. was unmoved by what people did, why did he go to war?
@Lmorales435 ай бұрын
Active listening indeed forms the cornerstone of understanding your query, Marcus A. Each individual, including yourself, navigates through unique circumstances. The pursuit of knowledge should not be about judgment but about fostering inner growth and self-improvement. By actively listening and absorbing the experiences and wisdom of others, we can enrich our own journey, learning not to criticize but to evolve from within.

Althought I like these videos, this is a little bit of a miss. First, not showing others that you suffer is not authentic. It is like wearing a mask that nothing bothers you. Not my cup of tea. Second, it seems to me that people confuse guilt and shame. Guilt is a feeling that shows you that you have made a mistake. When you make correct your mistakes you get rid of guilt as well.
