one thing I've noticed though is that they'll sometimes give you the necessary formula. For example, there was a triangle problem, and the law of cosines was given.

Indeed, sometimes they do! I wouldn't count on it, but sometimes the ACT is just nice :)

8:57 It should be 28.27 because you have to multiply 9 and 3.14 which is the pi symbol

I think reading is the more daunting task for sure! Many other students are in that same boat with you :) Keep practicing, and try to read books or magazines in your free time! It's one of those things that improves as you do it more. Feel free to email [e-mail] for more tips :)
