Margaret Hensley unfortunately there are signs that a lot of the show is staged beforehand and I suspect this would be one of them. When a contestant carries the chair with her rather than give it up that is not professional nor acceptable IMO

I don't usually watch anything but the auditions so I didn't see the context of the chair-snatching walk off. But if it was real behavior, resulting from being rejected, I doubt they would have rewarded such ugly childish tactics, embarrassing herself, her family by selfishly depriving others of a place to sit, for a second opportunity to win $1000000. Remember when the judges used to talk about a contestant's attitude? This is no longer a singing competition. This is pure Jerry Springer.
