It's a matter of usage. Great for self defense, it's relatively light when clipped and carried in your pocket. When, for example, a person grabs the edge of the pocket with the protrusion of the guard on the blunt side of the blade while taking the knife out of the pocket, and by pulling the knife out of the pocket, the blade opens. Then there is no risk of wanting to open the knife on the wrong side. It's true that the blade is not quite suitable for greasing a slice of bread, but I can imagine that it would work with it too. I have experience with another knife that has even worse holes in the blade, here the hole is at least one, relatively large and easy to clean. I don't know about others, but I'm used to cleaning the knife from the paste before closing it. It is not such a problem to clean the blade including the hole with a napkin. If I need a knife for self-defense, I will carry the knife in the same position in one place, attached to my pocket. Furthermore, I will be able to pull out the knife so that the blade opens on its own against the edge of my pocket. In that case, it's a great knife :D If I will occasionally use the knife for portioning food, opening packages, etc., then it is still a good knife. If I spread meat cream on my bread every day, then this knife will not be for me. But what is probably true is the illegal carrying of a knife in certain states. I live in the Czech Republic (that's where the mentioned knife comes from), which ranks high in world rankings for low crime. It is unimaginable for me to hear gunshots in the city or to be attacked at night. Firearms are very well regulated here and to carry them you need to have a firearms license and the weapon must be registered (to obtain a firearms license you need to know how to shoot and know the laws, you have to pass a test for everything, if you already have a firearms license, you need to regularly go for health check-ups and renew your license) With us, it's completely the other way around with knives, no type of knife is prohibited here, there is no restriction, balisong knife, switchblades, Stiletto, karambit, one-handed openable knives with safety, nothing is prohibited. The only thing that is not allowed is to carry a knife to demonstrations, concerts and the like. However, these regulations must be taken sensibly, if I come to the demonstration with a knife, but keep it hidden, there is no problem. If I go to a summer festival, it's no problem, everyone has a knife there, just to cut a slice of bread and spread it with meat cream :D Also, it's better to cut roast meat with your own knife than with an artificial one :D I can't imagine a boy scout who doesn't have a proper knife. We say ""Každý správný muž má u sebe nůž" (Every good man carries a knife) Most people take a knife as a working tool. Few people in our country don't have at least a tiny knife. Swiss multifunctional knives and also the small Czech knife "Rybička" from the Czech company Mikov are very popular here (small folding knife with handles in the shape of a fish) Ryba - Fish Rybička - Small fish

Self defense for me is very complicated topic. Personality tend to avoid it. Both discussions and situations that may require use of knife as weapon. I hang out with a lot of special forces members as well as martial arts masters and we have discussed various scenarios many times and even done simulations. Opinions on different techniques and types of knives are still divided and it seems that everyone is right and yet everything is based on very little real data and is more in the realms of philosophy than something that has been tested in practice. This knife only looks like a double-edged blade, but it is not, so its shape does not give it any advantage over a blade of conventional appearance and similar dimensions. If necessary, any knife with a 9-10 cm (4") blade can be used for self-defense.But if I knew my life was going to be in danger and I needed to carry some means of self-defense I wouldn't rely on a pocket knife. Like everything else said here this is just my opinion on the subject. Thank you for watching and commenting, it's always good to hear other people's opinions. When I was a young boy, Mikov was very popular in Eastern Europe. I remember their hunting knives with artificial deer antler handles. Think my grandfather still has one,

I'm thinking about buying this knife to add to my carry rotation, I live in Kansas City Missouri in the US and usually carry a Glock 19 or a beretta and sometimes a smith and wesson model 19 carry comp but I also carry a good knife at all times.
