Acting Secret Service head: Warning about would-be Trump assassin never reached agents

Ronald Rowe, the acting director of the Secret Service, said a warning about a gunman just before the attempted assassination of former President Trump didn't reach his agents because they were not able to hear radio communications from local police. Rowe also blamed the failure on separate command posts used by police and the Secret Service. NBC News' Julia Ainsley reports.

It's been a long time since using a walkie talkie, but like u said be on one channel. And why would they need someone to intercede messages. They are trained professionals, and not everyone can be a secret service personal, so why all the testimonies, all the depositions? It is kinda obvious what happened....

Because 1/ you can't put everyone in one channel - channel will got littered. 2/ you can't send critical info to everyone including low levels from auxilary. It's a security breach. 3/ you need to pass some info between agencies involved. So mostly there is a 2 rings in communication - inside team and to upper level (cordination center) which will retranslate relevant info to others partyes involved and to you from them.

Just getting ready to say we the people foot that bill for security for all politicians. So yeah should we pay more or should they just have done their jobs right. Remember cnn don't usually play trump rally live but that day they did. This could have been prevented if the local officers when they saw him park his van in the lot next to their cars when shift change was happing. If he would have been like no why is a civilian parking next to our operating area. Or if the ss would have used radios like all officers do. He'll even if they gave local police a cell phone number to call them this would have not happened.if the ss didn't abandoned their post in the agr building this wouldnt have happened. They knew for 90 min of him and still let trump on stage. Local pd was radio it in and their where local pd at the agr and rally event. You mean to tell me the local pd radio couldn't reach the local pd at the rally and get the information to ss in person since they didn't have any way of communicating with ss with any other means. This was a failure on all party's involved. But more on the ss than the local pd.

I heard that Trump was never given sniper protection in the past! This was the first time! Why was the sniper there? Simply to take out the assassin AFTER he killed Trump!!!! This cannot be swept under the rug!!
