Last year, as part of our ongoing partnership with Action Against Hunger, we delivered a series of initiatives in West Potok County, Kenya, a Tenderstem® growing region to help build resilience against the 'shocks' the region regularly faces, all of which are a detriment to the food security of the region.
The climate-smart kitchen garden project aimed to support locals by sharing knowledge and resources on growing vegetables on their land, for household and commerical use and creating a network of mother-to-mother support groups to continue the sharing of support and knowledge.
Since the start of the project, we're so pleased to see that the number of vegetable gardens in the region has increased, as has vegetable consumption and household savings. With more to come from the project this year, we're hoping to build even greater successes in 2023!
