I still remember getting my first Han (small head) and Chewbacca - I remember I tried to keep R2 & C-3PO (my first 2 figures ever and my favorites to this day) in one pocket and Alan and Chewie in my other pocket but at the time it just seemed my pockets were jammed full of action figures - I can’t imagine I was ever that small! In those days of pre-internet I had no idea about big head Han until I noticed him in a store on my regular hunt for my new Star Wars figure which was almost always what I bought with my allowance. And I was horrified. It looked like some weird deformed head from some other figure had accidentally gotten attached to Han’s body. I just couldn’t understand why they’d do such a thing, and to this day I find big head Han grotesque! :-)

I always heard he was replaced early in the run, but then I heard he was produced til 1980, NOW .. 🤯 In any case, small head Han for the win. :) There's another element to this, 1. White legs painted black (small head) 2. Black legs (small head) 3. Big head Han I still don't see the problem with the small head Han, it's in proportion with his body and is a MUCH better head sculpt. I have the same beef with the Obi-Wan variants, white hair is better.

The small is a bit more valuable but you can find deals on both.
