I had figure fatigue something fierce for a month, almost sold my collection. Then I found stop motion with figures and my mind was blown. As a child I was thought how cool it would be to see my figures fighting or just living out scenes of my creation without seeing my hands moving them and low and behold Stop Motion was the answer. I make my own diorama sets (I go for a end of the world type look, nature taking the world back) it takes a lot of time and commitment but if you stick with it you can come up with some pretty great stuff. Having seen your setup I thought I'd mention it. Great video , just found your channel and like what I'm seeing man. I think you have a pretty cool concept with Skybottom Station.

Like so many here, love the topic my dude! I for one, have had to start asking myself: Do I WANT it or do I LIKE it? Meaning, there are plenty of figures out there that I like, but the ones that stay on my shelf are the ones that I actually want to own for a long time. This has saved me some burnout with Hasbro's infinite amount of repaints and exclusives.

Awesome vid! I did one similar to this year's ago, "Why do we collect". It was weird because only a few people had reasons they could articulate. It seemed like others just never thought about it. I think the main issue is that most collectors just collect to have. Very few actually worldbuild. Its great to see others who actually do!

I think one of the biggest take always with toy collecting is to approach it with a level of stoicism. Stores not having the toys I want aren’t happening TO me, it’s happening AROUND me. Accepting this isn’t defeat, it’s accepting that we have no control over the stores getting products in on a consistent timeframe. I love the toy hunt, however I’m becoming very accepting that a lot of the time the product won’t be there, but that doesn’t stop me from checking. Unpopular opinion: FOMO comes from toy reviewers. People see guys getting store samples (no hate whatsoever, I’ve gotten complementary product before) or getting it early from China, and causing people to get hyped and FOMO. Influencers gonna influence.

I've realised that we exist in a strange dichotomy wherein we build these fantastic places, these habitats and stations for our toys that are so personal to us.....then we fill them with characters from other peoples worlds, rather than actually creating them ourselves. It's made me determined to try and build more figures myself rather than just buy another Star Wars character to sit in the corner.....

Figure Fatigue hits hard and granted I've taken advantage of people who got wayyyy over their heads and suddenly wanted to cut ties with action figures, It's how I rebuilt my Marvel Legends collection back so fast LOL. Still though, For some time I have only purchased what I really and truly like and want, There have been occasions that something wasn't what I expected but overall I am very happy with the direction my collection in all scales is going. Building slowly now although that last collection I bought is keeping me busy sorting it all out LOL.

I definitely hit that point lol. I bought way too many figures to the point of customizing and world building seems exhausting because of all the random figures I got lol. I'm trying to take a step back and focus on some structures/world building since that's what I'm really excited for. I wish I started small and built up haha. For now I'm taking a break from buying and plan to work on the customization stuff for a bit. I still do my dollar tree and walmart runs, but they are like every 2 weeks instead of every 2 days now lol.

Love the channel. So I’m old. I had the original Kenner Star Wars figures from the 70s and 80s and recently got back in when i saw the retro multipacks of the last 2 years. Most of my originals were sold decades ago but I still have a few (even Lando!) Now this whole vintage collection has me drooling. I try and buy only the figures i like and want and hopefully one day I’ll have the space to build a diorama like yours. Its a bit overwhelming as a new collector.

Amazing video as always! I went to target to get an exclusive Mando figure and was told someone drove to the back when the truck came and paid in cash for all of the figures so they didn't even reach the shelves. So when pre-ordering I'd rather wait the extra time for the local collectables store to get the figure and know it will be there and not have to fight scalpers.

Hasbro helped me last year when i couldn't find anything but wave 1 on the shelf. Tired of not finding the toy at Walmart or Target for year, I preorder precisely the toy I want from Hasbro Pulse and comes directly to my home. I don't buy the entire wave, just want I precisely want. I don't buy Earth Spark or Masterpiece Transformers at all, just very select Legacy Transformers I want. I also have price point of what I will spend. Have to.

This is still an excellent video with great advice. Hasbro is now re-producing Transformer toys which I'm happy about cause I don't have Cosmos and Galaxy that was almost impossible to find on shelf. But many are not happy that Hasbro made set that has one figure everyone wants but everyone has mostly all the others in the box.

I've stopped buying new figures as much as I used to. The first four waves of Classified were hard to find, especially with the Target exclusives being so scalped. The last wave I didn't do a single pre order and I found them all eventually. The current wave? I might just wait until they go to discounts. STOP PRE ORDERING!
