Was thinking the same thing. I'm not claustrophobic, like lifts (elevators) don't bother me and things like that, but even though this place has probably been like that forever I'd still be paranoid about millions of tons of rock falling and crushing me to death. Finding my way out again would just be a bonus.

You guys found an old mine thats intersects natural cave formations very cool, the reason I say its a old mine draft is in the ceiling there appears to be drill marks and the compressed air line running in from the outside not to mention the brick work and old cement bags that look like pillows now, I would venture a guess that the true floor was buried by the 3 to 4 feet of rock and sand from years of storm run off.
@JohnSmith-uk1vb7 ай бұрын
I didn't think about it being an air supply. That would probably explain the pressure regulator at the entrance of the cave.

Caves are so interesting to me. They're like naturally generating mazes, some are temporary and change over time adding new passages, removing old ones. Each cave is entirely unique, and some seem to be endless, only limited by our ability to fit through the gaps and explore them. Its an entirely alien environment to what we're used to on the surface, the cave entrance is like a portal calling you into an entirely different world.

I suffer from claustrophobia. I was stuck in a cave no bigger around than my shoulders when I was 15. There was someone else stuck behind me and someone in front of me who made it to a tiny room about 8 feet in circumference and 5 feet high. I had no choice but to squeeze myself forward inch by inch until i got to the tiny occupied room. I don't want to repeat the rest, but obviously i got out. After that I couldn't even sleep in a pup tent. Watching this is like torture, and yet here I am. Except that I can't finish it. Aaaaah!

9:00 All of the very smooth stone formation you're looking at is called flowstone, very smooth sediment deposits that were made with flowing water over hundreds and thousands of years. Something is caused that watery basin to dry up. There used to be a continuous waterfall keeping the entire area moist. Whatever is generating that higher temperature that you previously mentioned is probably what dried this place up.

Imagine at the end of the cave you see a Door that says Keep Out, and you hear weird sounds on the other side of it. Would they walk in ? I think Yes. They got big sparkly balls just like those stones.

I love this sort of content of exploring random caves. It scares me to death but at the same time I'm hugely curious. I think my curiosity can overcome my fear if I were to try this. I think I might try caving.

@9:55 looks like someone wrote 1921 and something else maybe starting with a cursive J. Very cool find. Someone certainly spent a lot of time and money in that cave. Also looks like it might have been back filled a bit.

That sparkly part of the cave being that you were so down into the bedrock, and that some points past the bedrock, you guys could have been looking at gold deposits I would not be surprised this is the first time I stumble onto to this channel. I love this video. I just subscribed thanks guys for the upload can’t wait to see more. Just curious where you guys are out of? I know some cool spots up here in central Massachusetts if you’re ever in the area, shoot me a message.

Still very curious what those pipes were for and where it led. Who would build something like that and for what purpose? Had to go through som extreme measures for that. Had to be worth the while right?
@laserspaceninja8 ай бұрын
My theory: the cave was an entrance to the water table. Instead drilling a well to it, someone just pumped the water from the entrance. I'm thinking that it receded over time so they added extensions to the pipes. Maybe it just receded so much that they called it quits and left all of the building materials.

I love your videos- any chance there are some interesting abounded buildings in ur area? I’ve been wanting to get into urbex but I live in the city which is then surrounded by open country and all the abandoned buildings in my area could be knocked over in a strong breeze. Found ur channel through Instagram btw:)

Crazy that I feel the space around me shrinking and my body feels tight just watching y’all crawl through those caves! I’m not afraid of much but being stuck would be on that list! I’ve been trapped briefly when I was younger crawling around old army tunnels at fort Casey state park in Washington! I’m sure there all locked up or filled with cement nowadays, but younger me had a brief panic attack and then calmly relaxed thanks to a kind lady that was also In there with her kids and slowly backed out the way I went in!

That’s a pressure regulator on the pipe at the entrance,so it was delivering water into the mine under pressure

I've been watching a lot of these videos lately, in a slightly masochistic way as I am very claustrophobic and you could not pay me to go caving, but weirdly I think it has had a somewhat numbing effect on me through exposure! That is, until I learned about 1) Floyd Collin and the Sand Cave incident, and 2) more recently (and possibly more horribly) John Jones in Nutty Putty Cave, and OH BOY these have traumatised me anew. Jones especially - being trapped upside down until your heart and lungs give in and you die, Jeez, I feel sick just thinking about it!! Anyway all that to say, take care and be safe guys! I hope nothing bad happens to you 😰

I wonder, when you guys explore a cave and get into some very low ceiling or tight places, do you ever take a small army type shovel and clear a way to get through to explore new areas? Some of the "gravel" looks fairly easy to scrape away and get through.

I know yall know what your doing but damn. This still seems risky if you guys actually just find these caves without knowing anything about them. The one in this video looks like it is a riverbed with all the small stones and rubble on the floor that doesn't look like if fell from the ceiling. I would be worried about this thing filling up with water and since it is so shallow it might take only a couple of inches to trap you. This is why I cant go caving in wet caves. I'm so paranoid about water and caves put together.
