I have a Zuckuss (4-LOM) bounty hunter droid that lacks silver paint on his back. Could this be a variant, or a factory mistake?

Very informative video, but the background music is a bit disracting and a bit too loud
@ActionFigureResource2 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks for the feedback. It's a fine balance and it didn't seem so loud when I was editing on my computer, but I agree that it is a tad bit too loud. It is one of my main complaints with other youtubers videos but once I had uploaded it I didn't really want to re-edit and upload it again, but may be I'll do an updated version.

I have a collection of 77 figures I never played with and bought new.. I put them in the Darth or C3PO cases and opened only 5 times in 45 years.. All orig guns etc were put in zip lock bags back in 77. I nfortunately opened the figures but never played with. 25 years ago I did show a collector and he ws floored as to condition. Should I have these graded? Many different variations....
@chonthicha842 жыл бұрын
The main issue with grading is the cost and the risk of sending them in. I would suggest you grade only IF there is a local dealer or toy shop that can act as a middleman for you or if you are able to physically take them to the grading facility yourself. If you are in the US or UK, where there are several different grading services available, make sure if you send them to do so by courier with adequate insurance and make sure you catalog and photograph everything beforehand in case they are lost or damaged.

The two Hans were just variations, the big head is a different figure.imo the big one sux
@RansomeStoddard3 жыл бұрын
A few more variations: For Boba Fett, the first few thousand made had their helmets painted blue...on top of the already blue molded plastic. Also, for Han, the first carded release had legs that were molded in white plastic and painted black. After the production run that had UPC code numbers on the footers, the rest of the Han figures (small head and large head) all had legs that were molded in black plastic.

Great job @RansomStoddard and many thanks, there are just soooooo many variants on these figures so I tried to keep it to the most obvious, but I wasn't aware of these ones!

@@ActionFigureResource thanks for that! I think I may have some of the only variations known then., and they are stated by AFA in their grade descriptions too!

Just pointing out you didn’t show the proper large-head Han Solo. I know, I know, knit picking… Great video otherwise! 👍

No problem, at the time of making this video (about 5-6 years ago) it was the only image I could find.

78-85
@ActionFigureResource2 жыл бұрын
Technically yes, although they are Stamped '77 they weren't physically released until early '78 and the POTF line is generally considered the end of the vintage line.
@eugenerusselnash2 жыл бұрын
@@ActionFigureResource The First 12 were not released until the spring of 1978. Production and distribution of Star Wars Figures ceased in the year of 1985. The Power of the Force was the last line to be produced for the 1985 run. Many individuals say that the run was from 77-85? Star Wars Figures were in the design phase right up until Christmas 77 hence the Early Bird Box Set in the February, March of 1978? I know that Figures, especially the First 12 are stamped 77, I still have mine but it is historically incorrect to say they were produced in 1977? I think that they were only designated as such to differentiate them from the second and third wave of Figures, 78/79?
@ActionFigureResource2 жыл бұрын
@@eugenerusselnash According to my research, the EB sets were all distributed by March 1978. As for the stamp, again according to my research, they were LICENSED from 1977 that why that date was used. You'll notice that some later figures, released in '82 etc., still have the '77 stamp because the stamp refers to when it was LICENSED not produced. The carded figures, as you state weren't released until later in 1978.

@@ActionFigureResource My very first Star Wars figure in Australia was Luke Skywalker. Bought in April 1978, Toltoys carded, standard lightsabre, Taiwan COO and the only one in the store. Two weeks later I got my R2-D2 at a different store and there were lots of them. But only R2D2's. Two weeks later during our May school holidays at another store I got Darth and 3P0. Loads of them. But only them. An hour later I had Leia and Stormtrooper from yet another store. I got the only two in the store. The distribution in those early days was all over the place. Then, nothing for 8 months. All of them together pretty much exploded onto store shelves around January 1979. During our May school holidays in 1979 wave 2 dropped and my first two were Luke X-Wing and Hammerhead together. There has been some dispute between collectors that Luke X-Wing was released later but that's simply not true. And it was around July 1979 that figures on Toltoys cards began disappearing from shelves here. Replaced by the Kenner logo until the final run...
