I think the appeal of this series is that it's the opposite of a "proper" restoration, yet you give the "cursed" machine so much dedication and love.

Honestly know the hard work you put into the front panel, and I know how hard it would be to add in the openings on the MacEffects front panel, but I feel like spraying the inside of the MacEffects case black and using that instead is the better way forward than continuing to use the original black front panel. Regardless, this is an amazing build!

I was initially thinking that too.. but to fit the excess(ive) drives, there was already a lot of body modding done to it. Then he had to "fix" some of those issues when he got the machine. Might not be willing to risk messing up the perfectly good MacEffects front with all the cutting and drilling.

Honestly yes, no matter how I dread the molten front I wouldn’t trust cutting the case to someone who screwed up the original in a first place so I guess I have to swallow that pill.

I've been following the cursed mac saga from the beginning an am surprised it still struggled a bit with system 8.1 after all of your mods. Everyone knows that RGB makes computers faster! I think it I looks killer.

I do not know why, probably the light diffusion, but the plastic of that case looks like the same plastic you get with cheap Walmart containers. I think it would look better with an acrylic look instead of looking like a computer in a walmart tub. I love all the other mods tho! It makes this "cursed mac" a lot less cursed

I tried illuminating an original iMac, using some ccfl tubes out of an old display panel, unfortunately it didn't work out all that well. I'll have to try again with some of this RGB LED strip.

I'm not a fan of the black front, I'd get the transparant front with a white backing together with the blue back to emulate an G3 iMac. Together with removing the front of the JAZ drive and moving it down to the floppy opening and replace the CD ROM with a slotin version that could use one of the slits above the floppy opening, mounting the drive right up against the front you could press the front plastic and the flex could be enough to activate the eject buttons. Would result in a more sleak, toned down casemod that would still turn heads for the SE go iMac design. :D

I know you spent hours to correct that front panel... but now it does not match with the quality of the new blue case. So I guess if you spray paint the front case with the right paint (plastic primer and plastic matte black paint) it will finally look perfect. Also paint the metal frame inside, maybe with black or chrome! More 3D printed parts will help too, like a frame around the drives for a perfect and flush finish.
