Hey ASPers, let's keep discussion ON POINT and really focus on actions and not on generalities. There are PLENTY of examples of women cops on the channel handling their business, women self-defenders kicking butt and taking names. It's totally in bounds to criticize this officer's actions (I sure did), but let's follow the community guidelines and NOT paint with broad generalities from this video. get-asp.com/communityguidelines lays out the principles for commenting here, so follow them!

@@Ryan_Harkin I was with you until you suggested if she was trained in hand to hand she could have incapacitated him. Why do you think Transgender women easily dominate women's sports? A woman could have significant skills, she could be a 4th Dan in a few disciplines and it still wouldn't be enough to take a guy of this size out. She could train her entire life and it still would not be enough, because men have a huge advantage in muscle mass, spacial awareness, bone density, reaction timing, tendon strength, coordination, on top of that we are less emotional in these situations, we are geared to fight, hunt and protect. Because he sounds like a child. And he’s doing it as soon as he walks back indoors then immediately turning the table on the officer mid way through the video!!! “You want control he says-Thats why you chose this job etc etc” (shut the f$&@ up spoiled rotten). Love the narrator here because he clearly tells it like it is, “as he’s clearly intoxicated on alcohol” he says later on the video also (telling of why he Stole something perhaps?)...This guy is garbage, check the family tax records - if he was “abused” he’s obviously not working a real job by “thievery”! This isn’t progress and Progressivism starts w property taxes (for elementary schools) so they can’t blame it on education anymore either. “The only thing more expensive than education IS ignorance.” It’s this kind of shit that needs to be shown even if it “highlights” the issue of officer problems. Control the borders It’s not just “poorly trained officers” it’s a lack of reading comprehension? starting at home and w this guy here who we clearly now understand has enough “choice” to steal is prime example...then as soon as he walks indoors it’s someone else who has the problem!? !! Again I don’t think the officer should’ve played it like she did but this whole scenario was odd.

@@ryanc2927 Heya I don't normally bother commenting on youtube stuff but I couldn't help myself while reading this. So let's go over your comment and see if I understood it correctly. He sounds like a child because he has some cognitive issues. "walk back indoors then immediately turn the tables on the office midway through the video" He didn't walk back inside and then suddenly jump her, she tried to grab him and then shoved him. After that, he explains that he was abused as a child and gets mad at her showing aggression but then backing off. After that, she continues to try and repeat the same failed action and creates a worse and worse situation where he slowly starts to feel more in power. "Love the narrator here because he clearly tells it like it is, as he’s clearly intoxicated on alcohol" The narrator never said this. At the start of the video, he said it would safe to assume he has some kind of mental issue or is under the influence 14:33, and later on, says it's obvious that he has some kind of mental disability. Subjective hearing is a sad trait but mistakes do happen so let's keep reading. "This guy is garbage, check the family tax records - if he was “abused” he’s obviously not working a real job by “thievery”!" I struggle to understand the connection between being abused and obviously not working a real job. “The only thing more expensive than education IS ignorance.” I think this guy's incompetence has more to due with his mental issues than a failed education system. He could have been taught better but I would argue its easier to train a police officer who hopefully doesn't have such issues to treat this situation better. The rest of your paragraph has the same issues. I hope you rewatch the video and try and understand why a lot of these people are upset at the officer instead of trying to put the blame onto a mentally ill man who wasn't aggressive until continuously provoked.
@ryanc2927
@ryanc2927 4 жыл бұрын
maxrocko number one he’s under the influence clearly addressed by the narrator or host of the video. (I don’t typically use KZbin for commenting as well). Secondly, why do you believe this person was or was not abused? He’s a criminal, who, obviously walked into a store and stole something which is a resource to some business that some people pay to have exist in their communities (I guess that’s rarity now?). Hence my only rational conclusion to check this “outstanding citizens” tax records. (Why not?) also, my statement about education has to do w the progressivism basis for education and how it’s taxed (which seems like grown adults aren’t really understanding by current events I’m witnessing-I possibly categorized this guy as such a mistake but it’s inclusive to the dynamic of this video I believe). The officer walked into the home (possibly a “mistake” to the lay person) which created an adverse event - a problem? A) knowing the subject is under the influence & b) an officers most dangerous call is actually a domestic situation (of which she wasn’t expecting what could’ve been simply theft?!). I mean we can easily find things to blame, the mother for being there at the time her son stole something, the possible alcohol, the now professed “abuse by a woman by a grown man now living w mother”? if the least you’re concerned of is the fact that the policewoman dealing w him and talking to him as the child he is acting like then you’re missing the entire scope of things? he is acting like an adult in my subjective view as he’s stolen something from a store? There’s something called “virtue” that infers moral intent that I personally believe most people have, even if they’re “mentally deficit” - I’ve met people who aren’t all there but they still possess that trait I believe. Also, What if, just what if the department was low on patrolmen due to them working other calls (of this exact type of thing or worse?) hence her reason for being there alone? Or even more so, the mother seemed to know right away he stole something; she asks him “did you steal something” as he’s sitting on the stairs then he Immediately walks down the stairs and asked the female officer to be arrested ! Only to then go back upstairs then address the officers job sincerity - LOL? (“Are you a cop for control issues” is what he proceeded to say !?). What’s that all about? Context is everything maybe the female officer didn’t play it right in the beginning but she certainly enacted the proper procedure as best she could. Now, The effect of a policeman who came in within split seconds to kick this guy in the head was haunting (even though he might not have been aware of what was happening before on radio!). The fact that policemen/women’s most dangerous call is a domestic call is this at its epitome. The multi layers of a situation, on top of mental issues, drug abuse it really isn’t a joke and I know this of course. But For someone so intelligent you missed a lot but annotated my comments as if i was “the bibliography” for citing sources on a paper you wrote. Lol. I do agree that there are some issues in the video but I don’t think they’re overarching the conclusions I’ve made. In conclusion The fact that he stole something is just as big of deal as this officers technicalities?.... sick in the head or not. That’s all For now and Again I don’t disagree with you but for sake of time I can’t discuss “why” people do what they do; I merely typed my analysis at that time because I believe the facts outweigh opinion about the officer. I didn’t like what I was reading regarding the policewoman because it was too bias and impartial to the reality to the whole ordeal. Thanks

@@ryanc2927 There is quite a bit that I would like to address in your post and some good points. However, it seems like the points I made in the previous post where sadly not heard fully. I am writing in hopes of talking to you so we can exchange our thoughts and maybe reach some kind of understand. So I ask you to try and take in some of the stuff I say and I will attempt to do the same. "I mean do we blame the mother for being there, the alcohol, the now professed “abused by a woman grown man now living w mother”?" The main discussion from the video was on how the officer reacted and what she could have done better. The end result of her actions where; Her losing control of her firearm (dropped it) Her being overpowered and losing access to her firearm (when he grabbed both her arms) Her missing her shots and accidentally shooting a civilian. Backup being needed and her life was put in danger. End result wasn't good, I think we both can agree on that. Do you think if the officer had acted differently a better end result could have been reached? So maybe my narrative doesn’t suit your expectation of the post “regarding the officer treating him as a child” but it’s what it is. Not sure what you mean by this but the main reasons I replied to your comment is because I feel like you might have missed some points the narrator made along with the general point of the video. Officers ideally should not partake in verbal discourse. As the narrator said and most cops are trained to do, Ask then tell, then make. When safe to do so of course.

If this was your son and you really wanted to help, you would cooperate with the officer, thats the best thing you could do. first your son is being detained so dont even allow him inside the house. second dont encourage your son by antagonizing the cop. and third get out of the scene if a gun is pulled, now the situation has escaped your control and you cant do nothing. morale of the story: if you want to live think objectively.

Agree. In all the videos I've seen (so far) that ASP has shown, 3 of them had female officers in it. The only one that had the officer on top of things was the one who was off duty, sitting in a restaurant with her spouse -- who was also a cop -- then some clown came in and tried to rob the place. The other two (which includes this one) would leave me very concerned to have them on my police force if I was Chief. The other is the black woman in New Orleans, that was part of the goat rope video, firing no-look arrant shots, with one hand around a cement pillar, into the back drop of a suburban neighborhood, about 15 yards away from the suspect, as he was running away. :O/ This one was about ego.

The rest of us who don't have our heads in the clouds and our egos out of check, could see almost instantly that this guy was not going to respect her or cooperate, and was absolutely going to physically resist. She should have recognised this and waited for her back up. Just ridiculous to go hands on with a mental lunatic inside an unknown house. She could easily have been killed if the Mom was on the son's side.

I know I could hold my own with a lot of guys my age (20) if I needed to defend myself. However, I also am not oblivious or ignorant to fact that I am a woman! I do have a biological disadvantage. The gov isnt a separate entity from the people. She began to force him physically, and failed to subdue the person time and time again. Im not saying his actions were right, im just saying he took actions that are understandble for the situation, but not legally justified. And those actions were only taken becausw she failed to follow protocol, and then shot an innocent bystander. James Richie That woman who was shot was guilty of nothing, victim blaming is immoral to the extreme. A proper professional would’ve analyzed that the guy wasn’t an immediate danger to anyone when she first arrived on the scene, she could’ve had him talking in circles focused on her for hours if she wanted to. More than enough time for the looney bin wagon to show up and get the guy what ever the hell he needed that day. In my opinion she tried to be robocop and go for glory when in reality the mindset of a proper peace officer should be more like the humble garbage man. It’s not a glamorous job and sometimes you wade through manure and nobody thanks you but you’ll always know that you set aside your ego and did what was best for the collective peace. There was nothing peaceful about this encounter, it was disruptive, unprofessional and frankly disgraceful,

Not necessarily, let me get clear that I don’t think she was in the right. She antagonised a mentally unwell person to a point that would’ve pissed me off quite frankly. However, she seemed green as all hell. Even the other officer was checking if she was alright, telling her what to call in over the radio as she was in a panic. I think this is absolutely reprehensible and there should certainly be some punishment. On top of that though, she needs proper training with somebody who will help her get her ego in check. Watching this was hard because he could’ve literally snapped her and he even told her so but she was to ego driven to admit it she was outsized; when so far he has been able to: turn around, walk away from you back into the house, continue walking away and sitting on the stairs. BOOM 💥 Now the assailant knows you are all bark and little bite. Even a mentally deficient person was able to spot that. She just needed better assessment skills and to rain her neck in. Probably wouldn’t kill her to try and be polite too. For the shits and gigs ya know.

That being said, you could do right by teaching her the error of her ways. She just needed to take her foot off the domination pedal and be pleasant. I know it doesn’t look good but I’d need to see a lot more camera footage in order to determine anything sufficient. They obviously aren’t going to give that footage over when it incriminates one of their own so.....🤷‍♂️ Rebel? Riot? It’s complicated and I understand why people would turn to that.
