Blizzard has a bad tendency of ruining their own games through updates. For example, Overwatch was great during its first two years or so, but now has so many changes that it's arguably a worse experience. I heard WoW did a similar thing.

I don’t know if that holds true anymore. Sure, when you look at things like FSX or much of the Xbox 360 landscape, Microsoft is a heavy hitter and responsible for millions of people’s greatest memories, but I can’t say that’s true anymore, especially after Minecraft Bedrock. As the parent company of Mojang, it’s their responsibility to ensure that Mojang is doing the right thing for what is Microsoft’s IP. But all Microsoft cares about is profit, not their community. They literally do not care when Mojang makes an idiotic marketplace or off-parity update because the marketplace is sô ridiculously profitable. Also windows 11 sucks

If you’re wondering about Overwatch, it’s basically what you said: Blizzard has ZERO idea about what their player base wants. Balancing is absolutely awful, buffing and nerfing characters depending on a recent tournament and completely ruining average play. They add characters who, although they seem cool, ruin the game and aren’t fun to play against. They single-handedly managed to make the game so bad that it’s basically destitute, and I hardly see people playing it much anymore. Sure, it’ll have some diehard fans who’ll come back for Overwatch 2, but I have a feeling that Overwatch 2 will die much quicker than Overwatch, and the player base will dwindle to nothing.

Overwatch wouldn't even be dying if Blizzard wasn't exceptional at the "ignore Overwatch fans" game. I play Tracer but she hasn't had a buff since...ever? Everyone's imbalanced, especially with Bastion able to take down double shields without needing to aim. Brig is OP for a healer, she's never actually healing. Junkrat and Hog need nerfs YESTERDAY. It's just out of control and so unenjoyable right now. Blizzard being a trash company is all the more reason to put it down.

WoW has only gone down hill ever since Activision absorbed them. Mist of Pandaria was the last expansion that I would call "decent" while a lot of people would say Legion was the last "good" expansion. However, what a lot of people seem to complete disregard is just how horribly little effort was put into Legion's development. The only pieces of gear that you got were armor, and you could get shards to either put new stats on your weapon or level up your weapon, because that means so fucking much compared to getting a new weapon that's an actual upgrade. Legion was basically just stuck around your weapons which they called Artifact Weapons, and completely ruined most, if not all lore behind these weapons that were previously unobtainable or weren't in the game. Thanks Activision.

I had issues with starting up COD Warzone/Modern Warfare and they told me to 'scan and repair' the game, but it only made things worse cause it restarts to scan every damn time.. After it hits 90%, it gives an error that something went wrong..

It doesn’t cost anything to sell a digital copy of a game. Honestly if I ever make my own game studio and start producing proper games, my plan would be to drop the price of the game after its cost to make was paid off. If it costs me $10,000 to make the game, and the game was being sold for $20, then after I made the $10,000 back I would set the price to like $5-$10 bucks because after that it’s all just profits. Yes I know, companies still need to pay their workers, that’s why extra content is put out and more games are made. Why would anybody buy a game for $60 when it was released 30-40 years ago Nintendo?

haven't seen any comments on it so I'll throw my take in as somebody who has played WoW for about 10 year or so and has recently quit for good Blizzard fucking destroyed WoW... They have changed literally everything people liked about it, and left it a lifeless husk... they ignore every single thing the community tells them and keep releasing stuff even when everybody hated it in the public test realm The devs are so unbelievably out of touch with their community, and you can very clearly tell the devs (or atleast the ones making the decisions) do not play the game, a quick example: a few years ago they removed a feature in the game everybody loved called tier sets, people where understandably upset about it and kept asking and pestering them to put it back in the game... to the point they finally said they would, jump a few YEARS later to the most recent patch, where they took tier sets, took away literally everything people liked about them, and added them back into the game... and they dont understand why people hate it... yeah I wonder why

Overwatch is generally awful due to the fact that when i play there is no skill based matchmaking so i get put up against prestige 5 (level 500) and people who have played nothing but overwatch for its whole lifespan. And my whole team is filled with people who just started

When you mentioned other competitive games with prolific cheating issues, I’m surprised you didn’t mention dead by daylight. To be fair, the massive security issue where it was possible for people to access streamers’ IPs and DDOS them, bricking up their router for weeks (which, it’s been three months since this issue became widely known about, still haven’t done a thing to fix it or said anything about trying to fix it) but yea in DBD, there are most likely more cheaters at top ranks than actual high-ranking players at this point and the things BHVR has been doing almost seem to ENCOURAGE more cheaters (I.E., putting the game on sale at EXTREME discounts in other countries which makes account selling super easy, putting the game on the epic games store with cords progress and even giving the game out FOR FREE on the first week, which essentially allowed cheaters to unban themselves with new, free accounts and yet cross-progression is not available on any other platform as of now) and it’s really frustrating and it’s extra frustrating to see the devs respond like massive children and take cute little twitch shirt cosmetics from streamers bc they call BHVR out for not addressing their issues. Absolute insanity.

The short version: *NOT GOOD* The still kinda short version: It's been downhill since wrath of the litch king came out and they've slowly optimized the game to go from a cool open world where you explore and develop your character to a game where you have to spam dungeons to hit level cap, then farm gear to get in to raids so you can farm gear for the next tier of raids while the gear you get has seemingly random stats and nothing really interesting or unique to make it stand out in any way, all while every expansion completely changes your classes play style in confusing and assbackwards ways turning every new xpac into a roll of the dice to see if your class is still fun to play. Yes, this is still the short version, I could rant for the length of an entire novel on how much Blizzard fucked up this game.

So… currently writing this in 2024 and absolutely nothing has changed for Activision Blizzard and if anything it has gotten worse, there were more 1900 layoffs and around 30 percent of SHG was fired (the same studio that was forced to make MW3 2023 in 16 months when they were promised they would be able to make the game they want), they promised infinite ward a second year expansion for MW2 2022 which didn’t happen, the games keep getting worse and no one even talks about it

The way you fight back... First, avoid buying games that require online players just for the game to be fun...which is most online games. Second, wait a few years for the prices to come down to about $20.00 or so, as that is what most games nowadays are really worth anyways. I waited 5 years for the price of X-Com 2 to come down to around $20.00 before I bought it. I'm glad I waited too, because X-Com 2 sucked, and so I minimized my losses. Patience is a virtue.
