Always watch these videos before exams/quizzes for review.. They do a great job at summing up all the ideas that accounting textbooks throw at us. Plus it doesnt hurt that cost accounting is pretty fun!

Hello Ed, but what if the company produces just one product? For example, like in the case of your example company, what if it produces just skateboards? Is abc even worth performing?
@martinlazar839 жыл бұрын
Great videos! :) I just noticed that in the Manag. acc. playlist they are not in sequence, like ABC 2 is before ABC 1 and some theory concepts are at the end of the list. Anyway, thanks a lot for those clear explanations. Cheers!

Can we say the Cost pool is also called the " Activity centre " like Production centre and service centre .

So I thought that support costs aren't related to MOH cost. It's more of a period cost

Hi, thank you for this. Would you say that ABC is equivalent to Job Order Costing with multiple allocation bases for each cost centre? Thx again, appreciated a lot the video.
@kebaletlole14438 жыл бұрын
I'm not too sure myself but isn't it job order costing the one where you take all your overheads and divide it by the cost driver in most cases being Direct Labour hours which at the end of the day is the plantwide rate or POHR, then ABC basically traces overheads to each cost driver.. which is why textbooks will tell you that ABC is the preferred method
@erjonsk8 жыл бұрын
Yes Keba, I think you're right. What ABC does differently from JOC is put in an additional layer of cost determinants enabling a more precise and obviously complex cost allocation. So my supposition above should be incorrect. Took me a couple months but I think I have it now :).
