They modded the game, which is community made add-ons. This made it so the game continues after it should have ended so when they launch the first rocket that's the end of the OG factorio, but now with mods on like he said at the beginning they need to make a light speed spaceship to win.

After watching Martincitopants first Factorio video, I instantly went to the steam store, bought the game and then proceeded to put 14 hours into it in one sitting. Yeah when people say it's virtual crack, they mean it.

The thing about factorio is that it starts out descriptively simple. You crash and start using your pickaxe to you can mine copper and steel to put in smelters and make metal to build stuff but you discover that this takes too long so you make a few driller's to mine for you but they need fuel so you set up coal drilling and to make things easier you make some robot arms and belts to automate distribution. All's going well so far then you notice your getting attacked by bugs a lot and holding them off yourself is getting difficult so you set up research so you can unlock gun turrets but both the R and D building and the guns require electricity so you make a boiler and a steam plant nearby and boom you have power and can start researching then you notice all the things you can research and think "Ah those would make things easier I just research a few." Within a few hours you a have a nuclear power grid, several large mining operations, a train network, a giant spider robot defending your base and no idea how you got here, when the last time you went outside was or how any of this works... Welcome to the Factorio experience 10/10 I forgot what the sun looks like please send help.

I love Factorio's graphics. So Starcraft-like. If you do pick it up. BE WARNED You think you just played for an hour, only to realize that the birds are chirping, the sun is rising, and everyone's wondering if you're okay. Don't worry if your factory will be a mess. That's how it all starts, and there isn't a right or wrong way to play Factorio. You could make clean and efficient designs, or embrace the beautiful randomness of a spaghetti engineer. Also, launching the rocket isn't the end goal since there isn't one as far as I can tell, as you can still continue after. Oh and btw, this is modded Factorio. There are tons of mods, and a mod manager/installer/downloader built into the game.

the pop up with finish the game was a ingame notification for achivements, if you play with mods they always reset every game which means you get all of them every time. without mods the pop up would be correct since they would have done almost everything possible but there modpack includes the "space exploration" mod which expands beyond the vanilla end of the game by sending you to space and do the same you did on other planets and in space as well.

Note to everyone not a factorio smart person, this is modded. the end is at the satalite, there is no factorybuilding this is a mod, the colored/tiered biters are a mod, trains dont go to mark III only 300 shit train, armor only goes to mark II and has limited space, belt balancers are a mod. SPACE SUCKS in vanilla... their is no scanning the planet,another moon,planet or anything, its just the main world. launch satalite game over. However all the artillery big pieces are real, and the setup is mostly the same, i think they changed the explosion graphic tho for the artillery. also boats dont exist. So the game objective is to launch a rocket to space because you crash landed to another planet but to build that rocket you will need to build a factory that mines the ores to one that makes rocket parts for me when i started it took me like 55hours to finish the game but then there are alot and ALOT of mods. theres one named space exploration wich they played on this video it took them about 30-50hours to launch a rocket and some other hours to go to space but in space the stuff gets really REALLY expensive so they would need to build a base many times bigger than they have now. The end goal of space exploration is to build a spaceship that can travel at the speed of light AND that can take up to 100-400hours but thats what i know do far

The base game is fun im 25h into second vanilla playthru cus my first was 90h and i didnt know shit so i just restarted im doing way better now im also further in the second playthru than im in my first one.. About the mods ofcourse they are more fun and after i finish my vanilla playthru i start new one with mods. Cant wait for that. The mods are free and easy af to install so i dont see any problem with them if you want mods just go download them and play with them theres no need for sadfaces if you want mods go get them. The only reason i play vanilla rn is because i want to get the base achievements and experince and learn the vanilla before i go to modded blind cus that is even harder and way more stuff to learn compared to base game
