Maharshi Ramana gave a very simple solution which summarizes in a nutshell 'Who am I' -Now let us find out this universal 'I' factor. This 'I' is a single 'I' throughout the Universe. In reality, we are NOT conditioned beings. Why because 'I am' not the body. When I say 'my body' it means me + body, in the same way when I say 'my car, my building, my wife, my son & so on, because the My ( I ) does not join with anything. It remains separate unattached (Sarvadhara-Niradhara)Then what is this 'I'?. This is the beatitude of the Supreme Self, the Chaitanya, the Creative Intelligence is not a thought or a feeling because thoughts & feelings change every microsecond, whereas this 'I' is constant from beginning till our last breath. This 'I' is a humming of the Divine. It is like one person(Supreme) using a microphone saying 'I' in speakers attached to every animate & inanimate object. This is the REAL 'I' we have to discover by focussing. It is, per se' 'Consciousness-Pure-Awareness', Watching the self in silence without words like Maharshi Ramana & Nisargadatta Maharaj, constantly we become that -Ayam Tat' (I am That -(English) same both in meaning & sound) - Because of our ignorance we are not aware of this truth. The ego-mind is overlapping the real 'I'. When we sleep & dream or sleep without a dream, this real 'I' is watching the body, without our knowledge. If somebody calls me by name, the mind can not hear. Yet when we wake up, we remember & say 'I had a wonderful sleep, I had a wonderful dream etc. How do we remember the silent sleep & dream when the mind is dead because it is the Real 'I' which is awake all the time. Just fr a few seconds as soon as we get up, we are aware of it. But Instantly, the mind takes over & superimposes on the real 'I' fearing its death & the daily drama begins. Forget all other scriptural lore & fix your attention constantly holding on to the 'I' without words (amness) & Realize your true nature, said Maharshi. His Direct disciples 'Papaji' (Harivamshalal Poonja, the nephew of Swami Ramatheerth), His disciple, Nisargadatta, an illiterate Beedi merchant living in a slum suburb of Bombay, Robert Adams, Mooji Baba, a West Indian & scores of others were Enlightened by this simple technique Ramana did not read any scriptures or Nisargadutta or Papaji. I am not a teacher or a 'jnan ' but a simple householder widower (86), alert & a Seeker. I am on FB under same name & WA
