Hi! I'm wondering what type and brand of lightener you're using. I've done balayage using blondor free lights just because I like wella products and depending on the person's hair it makes a very beautiful sunkissed blond
@ronileahcreativechemistry49538 жыл бұрын
Penelope Valentine, I use Jack WINN Paint. It is a balayage lightener that uses a new technology that uses silicone instead of clay to encapsulate the lightener. It also has the ability to lift up to 7 levels. check it out at www.jackwinncolor.com/veronicabeattie

That's great! Amazing I didn't know that there was a lightener that uses silicon. Thanks, I may practice with some to use in the future!

The whole reason I watched this video was to see what technique you used on the front section smh

I'm sorry. I was very new to making videos at that point. There may be another that has exactly what you are looking for

Where are the result pictures? I am a student and have so many problems with blending and bleeding. I do not understand after you did the first three pieces on the bottom section how when you pulled down the three pieces from the next section and didn't even touch the two side pieces, how those laying over the part that was lightened underneath them didn't bleed to the underside of them.

Can I do this (with sectioning which seems difficult) on my own hair by myself?

Love your videos!! Thank you so much for taking time to show us your pattern. A lot of videos I try to learn from cut from frame to frame so you don't see the full way of applying. One question I had is why don't you saturate the ends? Also what clay lightener do you recommend for darker a level like 3-5? I seem to have trouble getting them light light. Also I'm new to all this balayage melt technique.
@ronileahcreativechemistry49538 жыл бұрын
I'm so glad you like the videos. I only saturate through the ends if I want more of an ombre feel. if you want more definition then don't saturate. for darker levels we have to be realistic and understand the hair may be resistant to change. it is better to take a slice off of the top of you section and do a "faux" balayage in foil, with regular lightener and use heat if needed. I typically use Sunlights but now that my color company, Jack Winn Color, has developed their own balayage lightener I will switch.

when you tone the blonde do you avoid putting it on the roots/brown part of the hair or is it okay to saturate the whole hair
@ronileahcreativechemistry49536 жыл бұрын
Alyssa Saldana If I am using a demi toner it is safe to put it all over.

Hi! I found you on the olaplex users forum on facebook. What brand of lightener do you use? The consistency looks very paste like, which I prefer.
@ronileahcreativechemistry49536 жыл бұрын
ariellebook25 I believe this was Jack Winn Lightener but now I use any lightener and add Malibu clay or kaolin clay to thicken it if needed.

Can you use permanent color instead of bleach?
@ronileahcreativechemistry49536 жыл бұрын
camee michelle yes you can. If you get some Malibu clay or regular kaolin clay and add it to thicken the color. It will give you control

Hair by Roni Leah thanks..i tried this yesterday just looking at the video where you just demonstrate the triangles and trapezoids. I didnt realize it shouldnt leak through i just used a permanent blond color, i didnt realize it shouldnt saturate through the hair. It was mostly blond except for the brown triangles where i didnt put the color. it was still pretty and my client loved it.

I haven't quite figured out this whole video thing but if you want to check out my Facebook page, facebook.com/lookstodyefor2015 you can find a lot of my after photos. This young girl in particular is standing in her after photos and looks like she has a very blended/natural highlight. When doing balayage with a clay based lightener you don't need to insulate each section to keep it from bleeding. An outer shell quickly develops on the outside of the lightener and keeps the inside moist to allow the hair to process. If you want more control you can separate each section with balayage wrap, foil, or saran wrap (hard to deal with), to make sure you have no bleeding. I have other videos on this channel so they may help you with your other questions. You can also look up #tritrapbalaypattern to see other finished works using this technique. my instagram is: instagram.com/lookstodyefor_veronicabeattie

I really don't know why all this fancy sectioning is going on just to lighten the hair....it might work better when applying the final colour, but definitely not the lightener, no way.....random is random, sectioning is irrelevant....
@ronileahcreativechemistry49538 жыл бұрын
perth45 maybe you are correct but placement allows for symmetry in a world of unknowns. We should as artists at least embrace the possibility of new techniques.
