The fake links, scammers as you call them aren't actually real people. They are machine generated (bots) accounts by a software. Their purposes can vary. It's a common method used by macro data collectors. They target the chat rooms, channels, social media accounts with big flow of people and therefore data. Well I guess on a positive note that shows how popular ben is!! But what these scammers don't realize is how unpopular it makes them when Bens fans find out they are really scammers! Ben's fans are extremely loyal and I'm sure they would throw down for him and all work together to find and destroy these fake scammers trying to tarnish Ben's name and reputation!
