"What god would allow war??!!" "THE WAR GOD... THE GOD OF WAR"
@Jenkkimie5 жыл бұрын
Which is pretty funny because in the archaeology of Christianity Yahweh, the god that Chrisitians now call as their God originates from an ancient polytheistic Abrahamic religion where he was the god of war. No wonder he is so violent in the old testament, this was still a time he was the god of war. And no, not the cool god of war from the video games and books, the lame kind like the despots of history.

@@tamarjmalettoimpressively open-minded. Many Christians are quite upset by blasphemy or someone suggesting that their god isn't even real. I guess you can think it's funny and think he's going to be tortured forever in hell for saying this. Unless I'm straw-manning you, I realize you might not actually believe he's going to hell, and you might acknowledge the possibility that there is no god. I know there are different kinds of Christians.

Tamar Maletto outstanding. You sound like a really pleasant person. I do think the concept of eternal torture is a problematic aspect of Christianity. Especially if you believe in a perfect, omnipotent and omniscient god. You know, the whole epicurean riddle thing. I can understand not thinking about it. But if you’re into the philosophy of religion, you might want to spend some time on hell and the problem of evil. Test your faith, see if the things you believe are consistent with your model of reality. I did that when I was young, lost my religion to intellectual honesty. But I still laugh, and love, and live a pretty good life.

In case anyone is genuinely curious about those Bible passages... In the time the Bible was written, women were considered second class citizens (if that). Marriage WAS between a man and a woman because marriage was a political contract families would use to forge alliances or raise social status. The contract was then cemented through progeny (which is why there is heavy negative stigma against barren women in scripture). However, it was considered extremely taboo for a man to be romantically involved with a woman and much of the literature written around that time period compared women to animals. Men typically were romantically involved with younger men. Men were divided into two separate gender roles, one being from childhood to young adulthood and the other being adulthood and onward. It was relatively taboo for an adult man to be involved romantically with another adult man, but expected for an adult man to be involved romantically with a younger man.

That crowd was not ready for that genius/madness. Solid material. Hampton Yount, the worst name I ever heard. Good start!

Good stage presence? Hampton was clearly nervous... sweating profusely, kept saying umm and ugh, weird body ticks. But yeah, okay. You're right, he was the second coming of Sam kinison up there. Such a great performer

#1 ON TRENDING honestly though it feels more natural to acknowledge when youre nervous on stage than try to fool people, and I think thats what made his presence feel good
