Timberline sharpener $124 Amazon sharpener $19.99 Yes I would say there is quite a difference. plus for the Timberlin the replacement cutters are $20 each.

It is the operator malfunction. Mine works really well on my saw.

Nice audio and video quality tks for demonstrating the unit, I also bought one but the picture of the item i bought was different than the actual item received, the picture looked more like the timberline, thicker handle etc but yeah opened it very thin handle. Nice video just subscribed

@diggindiggenit6540 that's a bummer you didn't receive what was pictured. I know when I was looking some of the ads show what appeared to be a timberline picture that was stolen from the website. Did you try the sharpener? Thanks for the kind comment, sub, and for watching! ~Mr. C.

sharpeners like this or the granberg file n joint you really need to drill a divot in your bar you so can get repeatable results
@NaturesCadenceFarm
@NaturesCadenceFarm Жыл бұрын
@Schlomo Shekelstein that is an interesting idea. I had never thought of that. As the tooth shortens would a lower divot be needed to compensate for less tooth height? I will look into the idea though. Thanks! ~Mr. C.

@patterdalezipsuzilil I think you are referring to the burr on the cutter tooth. I guess so... It will probably break off as soon as it touches the wood though. Thanks for watching and asking! Keep em coming! ~Mr. C.

Looks like these don't work on low profile chains commonly used on cordless saws.
@NaturesCadenceFarm
@NaturesCadenceFarm 7 ай бұрын
@fredhinck9685 the knock off ones would not at all. The timberline might. I do not have a cordless to try it on. If I do one day I will definitely give it a go. Thanks for watching and commenting! ~Mr. C.

You know what is interesting this type of design isn't new, the other day I seen on an online auction site a vintage type sharpener same basic design, maybe 45 yrs old very cool.

OOPS, spoke too soon. Haven't seen a smaller version like you showed. There doesn't seem to be a distinction between sizes in the adds.
@NaturesCadenceFarm

@fredhinck9685 the smaller one doesn't look like it would work either. Maybe it would but it is just dimensionally too small for anything I think. Thank you very much for taking the time to comment. It means so much to me. ~Mr. C.

Those bumps are called “the gullet” you should always get the gullet unless you’re using a grinder. Looks like someone ground your chain incorrectly
@NaturesCadenceFarm
@NaturesCadenceFarm Жыл бұрын
@JAMES HOPKINS I agree! Get that gullet! This saw was a friends. I was helping him sharpen his chain. I figured it would be good to show how some shops would leave a gullet bump and that it would need to be removed. Thank you so much for commenting and helping everyone out. I really appreciate awesome viewers like you that help out and interact. Cool machine work you do. I would love to have some tools like that and know how to use them one day. ~Mr. C.

Can you tell me if the Timberline bits fit the Amazon sharpener?
@NaturesCadenceFarm
@NaturesCadenceFarm 11 ай бұрын
@thomasfrost6993 my Timberline carbide burrs do not fit any of the knockoffs I have. There might be a manufacturer that is making one that does accept the Timberline burrs but I have not seen one. Excellent question, thanks for asking. ~Mr. C.

i don't understand why the chinese don't copy the exact dimensions of the timberline so that the slide doesn't fall off at the end of the rail. anyway...i ordered a knockoff yesterday...hope i don't have to return it to amazon. i'm not spending 125$ for the real deal.
@NaturesCadenceFarm

@rwhirsch I found the block falling off when nowhere close to the end of the chain life a huge let down. If that was corrected I could see the unit as being slightly useful. I would love to hear your feedback on the one you get from Amazon. Thanks for watching! ~Mr. C.
