I had a ton of trouble with my x570+sata hdd's. Only after a while did i deduce it was the bclk overclock which continuously corrupted the drives, regardless of OS or whatever. A 1% change completely threw off the system.

Have you tried any Samsung A-die on 10nm? Glad you’ve showcased this. Still can’t justify such high prices per gb of ram. Anyway i am struggling (nightmares actually ) with Samsung A-die 10nm by the looks of it on some Viper Blackouts labeled 3600Mhz 32gb kit. One stick is dead by default on my mortar b550 paired with 3900x. The one that works boots default at 2666 and with xmp freezes before windows so RMAed those to ebuyer... still have them until return pack arrives but don’t quite know how to handle this new chips. Dissatisfied they can’t even xmp at 18 22 22 22... Can send pics of those...actually wish i could pack and send those to you but am cash stranded so need money back to kickstart my workstation( no gaming for me)

Hi! I have some fine G.SKILLs (2x16GB, 3600MHz, 14-15-15-35, 1,45V), which I would like to OC to 3800MHz, but I worry about the temperatures. Now, they reach 60'C under load while gaming (~45'C while idle). I wonder if it is too high. Could you elaborate on that? heres 1 for you, i have msi tomahawk x570 with a 5900x. 4x8gb patriot 4400 cl19 ram. if i install all 4 sticks the pc boots and runs fine (at 2133) but i cant get into the bios, it seems like its in the bios but it refuses to display it on the monitor (tried hdmi and dp) if i only use 2 sticks then the bios works fine, iv tried latest stable and latest beta bios, same result

The self refresh current listed in the datasheet goes up like 400% from low temp to high temp. more than doubles from 25c to 45c I can get my 4x32GB rev.B micron to 3400 24/7 stable, it'll boot at 3466 and 3533 and mostly be stable, stability seems to go away with room temp changes. I think the bigger problem is signal integrity with 4 dimms however.

I have Micron B-die RAM. It doesn't post if I try pushing it to 4,200 MHz, or CL14. Is that the RAM itself, or just the CPU/MB? Z390 board, VDDR can run indefinitely past 1.6V, already tested VCCIO up to 1.35V and VCCSA to 1.4V.

@@Shizuyumi really depends on the ICs. Some work best on intel some work best on AMD. For each platform the best board is also different. For Z490 it would be the Apex and for B550 it's probably the B550 UnifyX or B550i Strix.

Yeah I get that, but I meant lowering the BCLK in BIOS so you can raise the memory multiplier one step (also in BIOS) to be able to boot, and then incrementally raise the BCLK back towards 100 in OS. At least that's how I used to do it on X58, lower BCLK meant higher possible memory multiplier to work with

What I'm wondering is why the spec for best performance when you have more than one slot per channel and won't be filling all of them calls for filling something other than and leaving the closest slot per channel empty. I have two ASRock boards and both are the same in this regard. Slot one and three (of range 0,1,2,3 for those rare non technical folks stumbling through here) if you only have two DIMMS. That's the same order they're in from closest to furthest from CPU.

It is monolithic like the 4000 series mobile chips (they are both renoir). You may know already but I am putting this here incase others read it. The 3000 series desktop processors have the IO die on GF 12nm. They had to design a new TSMC 7FF IO part of the core because it is not a seperate die for these chips. That's why it performs better than the 3000 series. With a 4 slot standard (non HEDT) MB (with 2 dimm per channel) if you number the slots 1234, you populate slots 2 and 4 first. This is the optimal layout for 2 DIMM because it populates both mem channels (the most important) and it populates the furthest slot in each channel (second most important). However, if you are only populating 1 slot, do slot 2 first (instead of slot 4) because the memory channel closer to the CPU has better performance. The MB manual should say to populate slots in order 2, 4, 1, 3. BZ's MB has only 1 slot per channel, so he is populating only the memory channel closest to the CPU. I hope this makes sense.

ok so on the 5100mhz kit. I'm wondering what I could hit now on my Ballistix 3600mhz, X570 Aorus Master. I have a 3700x, but want to try with 4750g or the 5900x. I don't have the 4750g sadly

@@techfan7808 You can get them from Aliexpress, but be aware that the 4750G only has 12 PCIe 3.0 lanes, so if you also care about gaming you'll only get x8 bandwidth I believe. 4650G has 20 lanes though.

To free them just put the computer outside the window on a cold day lol , assuming you have non-humid winter weather there.

@@shibasss condensation is problem with cold objects in a warm enviroment it's not a problem for warm objects in a cold enviroment.
