There is or was some concern with adding electric current to acupuncture therapy. Too high a voltage will cause formation of dendrytes. I disagree with the latter portion indicating that dogs and humans have no similarities in acupuncture therapy. The reason being is they both are considered to be nervous creatures. Maybe in disposition and diet only do we differ.

Poor dogs they look so confused. Tons of needles stabbed on them plus electric shocks and restraining belts and on top of that everything is in Chinese. They probably have absolutely no idea what’s going on.

Our American vet uses accupressure and accupuncture on our Beagle mix. He is trained in Western and Chinese treatments. Right now he is feeling stressed because my spouse has cancer- dogs can smell illness. The therapy is working and I do accupressure at home as well. It helps if your pet has been going to the same vet for years like us. It is not painful.

even humans are scared of acupuncture haha. Pets are afraid of a lot of things, even vet visits. that's why it's important that the owners are there to comfort them.
