I had to tackle this problem on my 2006 MDX and was able to order the part before hand after seeing it in your video ... was able to remove the center console because of your clear guidance, and just saved myself a lot of money by not having a mechanic do it for me .. thanks again for sharing

Much less frequently, it's that relay right there by the blower intake. Sometimes after a long period of disuse after the thermal fuse in the control module blows, the blower fan will become stuck, and needs to be spun by hand to free it up after replacing the control module. Plan on replacing it in the near future if that is the case with your MDX or other Acura/Honda with this system.

You have to replace your ac actuator, vehicles will have between 3-5 actuators. Basically the little motor that opens or closes vents, they are usually behind the glove compartment or by the pedals

Hello Garage Boys. The front ac on my 09 MDX quit out of the blue today. I am happy I found your video here. Should I be looking for a front ac resistor and would that be in the same vicinity of the one you showed? Thank you.
@GarageBoys4 жыл бұрын
Is your blower not turning on at all? If it’s not the check your relays
@williecoprico67994 жыл бұрын
@@GarageBoys The front motor functionality was a bit wishy washy. Very low speed and no cool air. When turned to high there seemed to be good air flow but still w/o cooling. All this time the rear ac was normal. Since my last post I have determined that it was the front blow resistor acting up. I will do more diagnostics in that direction. By the way where about is the relay you have mentioned? Thank you.
@GarageBoys4 жыл бұрын
You will find the relay in the fuse box, either under the hood or the ones inside the cabin. But if your blower is turning on then your problem is not the relay, sounds like you may be low in freon

@GarageBoys6 жыл бұрын
If that didn’t work, then your issue can be either the relays for the rear blower or the blower itself which is on the passenger side behind the same panel removed in this video
@raulignacio54005 жыл бұрын
@@GarageBoys I followed your instruction to check the relays for the rear blower or the blower itself. I removed the passenger side panel and did not see the relay. where is it located?
@GarageBoys5 жыл бұрын
I meant to say that on the passenger side panel you can remove the blower, on the driver side you can clean it but to remove it you do it from the passenger side. The relays should be in the fuse box, check the manual for more details or google 2006 MDX owners manual.pdf and you can see the manual online

I cleaned the mesh filter, but in the area where your resistor is, my plug seems to be attached to a white box that looks like a relay. 2008 Honda Pilot. Any advice? Is my resistor in a different location, because all the videos seem to suggest it should be where you show?
@GarageBoys5 жыл бұрын
Best bet is to follow the cable from the blower and you will find the resistor

Garage Boys OK thank you. I did more research, and the resistor to my Pilot appears to be a different style (used in 2007 Pilots). I ordered a replacement part, so hopefully that fixes our issue.
@markboisvert18572 жыл бұрын
The resistor could be on the other side of the blower motor that you recommended to clean under the gear shifter. Remove the panel on the other side of the console. On the Acura MDX 2005 2006 there’s a resistor on the other side of that fan with the screen. Same type of plug/Resistor but it’s on the passenger side
