Addicted to your channel! One thing that always confused me is how does inflammation destroy healthy tissue? Is it the macrophages/neutrophils attacking?

Thanks for your kind words. Neutrophils work to remove foreign material (bacteria, etc). Much of the destruction is caused by the capillary permeability (edema) and clotting that occurs in the lung. When inflammation is out of control, the non-specific inflammatory mediators such as histamine and bradykinin mark healthy tissue as foreign directing neutrophils to the healthy tissue instead of foreign material.
