In my area some inspectors do not allow you to install NM cable inside of conduit except in basement to protect maybe 5 or 6' of cable. Heard one reason for not allowing NM cable inside of conduit some people could be able to know what guage the wire is. Typical type THHN/THWN wire that is normally pulled in conduit has the wire guage printed on wire jacket what every 6 to 12".

Beyond cost and ease of pulling wire through it, are there other benefits to using aluminum conduit? Just curious. Thanks for sharing.

It could also be more corrosion resistant in areas that might be corrosive to steel, which is why I'm using it (with a marine coating); that being said, galvanized steel is pretty resistant to rust unless you are near the ocean, fog, etc.
