@@Classic_DM 😂😂😂 let that take nothing away from another great video from your good self sir. Shame your not UK based, there aren't enough old skool D&D'ers over here for my liking.

Great video. i really like that you pointed out the 'my' monster attitude. i love the npcs i create, i put a lot of thought into them and try to make them as cool as possible, but I have no emotional connection to them and ultimately I want the pcs to kill them, to further the story and it feels good to kill a powerful enemy. Its not the DM vs The PC's. Its the PC's vs an environment that the DM creates for them. Love your content :) Thanks

Great! I used to read a lot of 5th edition players complain about such things on Facebook, so I felt compelled as an older dude to try an share the perspective. I agree with you 100% on villains! I think sometimes DMs rely on linear storytelling too much. Keep it flexible but thematic! Thanks for the positive feedback, too!🎲🎲🎲

Table top D&D , played at an advanced level as we do. I don't believe ( my opinion) that that any ai or computer simulated ground can ever be played to and with the degree of realism or offer anywhere near the choices, or rather in our format the PC has an open sand box available to them their options are only limited by their creativity and imagination, as long as it is within the rules.

Hopefully , you can get this message. I noticed that you have a digitized A D and D Character Record. How could I obtain a copy of that? Also, I noticed your Character tokens for monsters, where did you purchase those?

If the party gets to be too successful in combat, the solution is simple, put them them in situations where their martial prowess is no longer a key factor for coming out on top. Time to break out the Tomb of Horrors.

That is a badly written dungeon, a simple question, why would the party need to go in there? The module was missing that, the treasure wasn't even good.

Great advice! Villains are made to be defeated. Let them be. Just prep up the next adventure, or the bad guy's boss and be done with it. I was too proprietary of villains once. That was a mistake.

Besides, it's not as if they're actually dead. The next time you run that adventure, they reset right where you had them inserted for the next group.
