I'm so glad artists have finally begun to realize that making their music available for free won't stop people from buying it. In fact, I just purchased this album, and I never would have if I couldn't have heard the whole thing beforehand. So thank you, Ad Infinitum, because this free exposure just got you a new fan.

I've been saying this same thing for a long time, if you take a chance and buy an album outright just to see if you like it, and then you don't, your less likely to buy another album from said artist on a whim again.
@gh84474 жыл бұрын
Huh, having just listened to the album right through, I was just thinking that I'd go online and buy it! I'm amazed that bands who have reaction videos pulled (thinking Tool and Metallica for example) have yet to understand that it's free advertising for them. About 18 months ago, I stumbled upon Sleeping Sun by Nightwish, and that totally sucked my into the Melodic/Symphonic Metal Genre, and within a matter of months I had bought fourty-four CDs of that genre, *plus* Unleash the Archers and Jinjer. I love every single one of those albums (to a more or lesser degree). I'm also about to buy Ignea's three albums. Just a moment ago I went and bought Ad Infinitum's new album. All because I stumbled upon a single song, for free, on You Tube.
@gh84474 жыл бұрын
@@AerologyGuitars Yeah, but they get a pittance. I'll continue to buy CDs (or other physical media) for as long as they are available. I'll always have them, I can rip them to improved formats as they develop, and no streaming service can take them away from me one day to the next (it happens!), especially if they go bust!

I just discovered this band today. For some context, ever since 2017, I've been making collages of the albums that have come out that year from bands that I listen to. In 2017, there were about six albums. In 2018, there were seven. In 2019, only four. This year has TWELVE. Mind you, I have already made the collage and I cannot fit anymore albums on the image. It's already crammed for space. I started reviewing and scoring each of the twelve albums two weeks or so ago and posting the review and score for each on my personal Facebook page; one post per album. After listening to this entire album like three times this morning, I can say that I may have to make a new collage... this album is absolutely incredible and Melissa Bonny's vocals are mesmerizing. "Marching on Versailles" is special and instantly sold me. Easily one of the best albums I've heard all year. I may just have to make a special side note when I make a review for this album and specify that it was not in the collage because 1) I didn't know the band existed and 2) It wouldn't fit, haha.

Rezension ist geschrieben ... : Was soll man sagen?

I expected more songs like Marching on Versailles, not only it's awesome, it also fits the apparent theme the band was going for. The album is called "Chapter One: Monarchy" so I guess I expected a more "thematic" album with a symphonic approach, not the case. Kinda of a bummer, but I can see a lot of potential. I think I'll really enjoy it after listening with a different mindset.

i think this album tries to tell a story, here is what i understand: she was fighting for good and justice in the first place, she and everyone finally beat the old leader. people were aware that leader was corrupted by their powers and was a selfish person. then she organized everyone and beat that leader, came to rule. organization happened at "infected monarchy" and they beat the leader at "marching on versailles" she wanted the good for everybody, even if her job is hard, she always tried to keep herself mentally positive, tried to think rational and healthy. The "maleficent" tells she always fought with her inner demons and she beat them (at least she thought so) but on the other side, people were betraying her. she realized, even her closest loved ones cant be trusted. this was a very big surprise since she trusted them, so she got rid of them in "see you in hell". She knew a leader needs to be mentally stable, but she was just a human after all, with that much fuss around her, she cant stay so mature. in "i am the storm" she became more strict to deal with her life and also people. she tried her best to keep stable and cool but i think her inner demons were starting to get stronger, because this line "you are just a noice, a whisper in the night" means she is still trying to fight with something in her head. she ignores but its still there, she is just trying to stay strong. during that phase, she found other leaders and people to work with and they accord her well. looks like she is getting stronger and becoming more independent as a leader. so in "fire and ice" she is making progress, establishing authority. then she becomes more and more insensible, at the start she was trying to be a good person and be leader for good of people. but now, she is not the same person, life changed her too. yes she still cares about being a good leader, but she can also act arbitrary more easily, without regret. in "live before you die" she is getting reckless. she is finally starting to use her full power over people and acting more careless but still trying to keep herself under control a little (just trying). and over time, she becomes more and more unbearable. in "revenge" now people are afraid of her, after a long time of ruling, people realized now its so hard to face her, she is hard to communicate. also her lack of goodness keeps getting bigger. she loses her belief in world and goodness. and finally, in "demons" she realizes she became a monster, she is nothing different from the old leader now. after a very long time, she realised she doesnt have a heart anymore and as much as she regrets, she knows that she is not the only one to blame. now she knows what happened to old leader, why they were like that and everything. there are a lot of factors that corrupting leaders. actually i didnt get how "tell me why" is relevant to this story, but i have three theories: 1. she found her significant other, or 2. she finally understands the old leader's emotions and actions now, or 3. now she knows another leader in her present day, that leader is feeling/acting like her and she can understand that person very good after all of this. thats all, i listen to this album with this storyline in my head and i think their concept is so creative. i like their music.
