Yup consumerism and capitalism gone wrong is something he does well. This was designed like a boss battle with an ad bot... So yea pretty spot on. He does very well with character work and style matching the world they are in. Similar vein one to check out would be his cyperpunk song "data stream" or his outer worlds one "fine print"

Great reaction! Stupendium really did want this song to sound in part like a musical and in part like a boss battle (with the viewer's sanity, probably). Would love to see more of him on your channel. His most famous and impactful songs about consumerism/capitalism in general are Fine Print (Outer WorlRng), Data Stream (Cyberpunk song), Matter of Factories (Satisfactory song). Plus he has just funny/silly songs, like Vending Machine of Love or What a Fowl Day, and just beautiful and poetic songs, like Apex, Slide into the Void, Fragments and many more. Oh, and he has several collaborations with Dan Bull, which are great by themselves. You generally can't miss with him, production and writing are always top-tier level.

As a couple of people have already pointed out, this is a pretty rough Stupendium song to start out with. ^^; I see you've already been given a few further recommendations. Might as well join in: I recommend "Nook, Line and Sinker", "The Fine Print", "Chairman of The Board" and "Art of Darkness" for a start.

My favorite part of this masterpiece is how he makes so many references to musicals (mostly The Music Man, whose lead really fits the role). I love that stuff. "The very model of a modern major general store" killed me.

More The Stupendium please, this was a crazy place to start with their music, not that their average is exactly normal. As for where else to go, I can recommend literally any of these (especially the first 3): The Fine Print Art of Darkness Fiend Like Me Why Did I Say Okie Doki? Impossible Geometry The Aftermath The Apex Fragments Vending Machine of Love The Data Stream And So We Fall An Impostor Calls Tune Into the Madness It's a Joy Slide into the Void Room For Improvement Chairman of the Board Don't Let The Bellhops Bite Probably missed a couple, but so be it, I think the list is long enough.
@LowbrowDeluxe2 жыл бұрын
I feel like going straight from this to Fine Print (or even The House Always Wins) or anything else from his Evil Capitalist Villain list might give too much of a slanted perspective on his work. My personal recommendation with The Stupendium is almost always just pick a game you like that he's made a song for. And Art of Darkness. Because not only does it tell the story so well even if you've never played the game, it's just a certified bop.
@RandomPerson-fg1jf2 жыл бұрын
@@LowbrowDeluxe Maybe, but at the same time, there are a lot of songs about capitalism and consumerism, so it's not that far off the truth. Still, you do have a point, I just love The Fine Print.

@@RandomPerson-fg1jf Stupendium says he likes the villain songs best. My personal favorites, though, are "Slide Into the Void" and "Art of Darkness". "Ad Infinitum" is great too, IMO - if I ever want to show someone what it's like to experience sensory overload (a common occurrence for those of us on the autism spectrum), I can just sit them down in front of the computer with a pair of headphones and make them watch this video without pausing.

Stupes wend wild on this one. In terms of further reaction stuff, his biggest hits are "Art of Darkness" - a Bendy and The Ink Machine song, and "The Fine Print", which explores the themes of corporate exploitation in The Outer Worlds. Everything he does is a major visual production. I'd also recommend Tune into the Madness, one of several collabs he's done with Dan Bull. That's certainly a spectacle in its own right.

Haha, full on first Stupendium video, I'm getting a kick by visiting everyone reacting to this video because it's so full-on. He does provide greenscreen/paper-drawing side-by-sides of his videos to his patrons. (disclosure, I'm one), and sometimes when they have time they'll do an actual behind the scenes of their filming. I love the positive vibes of Fragments, which is based on Ratchet and Clank - Rift Apart, but it was Slide into the Void that made me want to support him. Thanks for your reaction, it was one of the best I've watched for Ad Infinitum to date :)

Please, check out Vending machine of love, and Rouge's gallery. I feel like those two show off his lyrical genuis. For Vending machine of love, he wrote it in one night, as a favor to his friend, to be the theme song of his friend's video game, only cans. The third verse is amazing. as for Rouge's gallery, there's a ton of great references to artists in it, worked in quite well to the verses.

A lot of Stipendiums songs apply a Lense of consumerism to them. He manages to effectively communicate the message of the game while applying themes and analysis of his own without distracting from the point. He's done songs like this for Cyberpunk 2077, Death and Taxes, Fall Guys, The Outer worlds, Fallou, Little Nightmares 2, etc. His stuff is always really good, with clever writing that really sends a message and makes you think about some things

Yeah, this ones a mental overload which fits a living spam bot like Spamton. If you want to keep to the idea of consumerism for the next one he's actually got a few songs in the same line. Most prominently The Data Stream and The Fine Print are the corporate bureaucracy side of the concept being the cold heartless controlling aspects rather then Ad Infinitum's overloaded consumer madness.

Stupendium *excels* in takes on consumerism. For less overload, 'The Fine Print" and "The Data Stream", his Outer Worlds and Cyberpunk songs respectively, both follow in the same themes. This is purposefully meant to be overload, excessively fast, excessively in your face, because it is Spamton -- the others have more relaxed feels, as befit their games' themes as well.
