I haven't enjoyed listening to a guitarist this much since my teenage years consuming all of the late, great Edward Van Halen's music. Chapter I and Revisited (Loved the Spanish stylings on that one so much) were flawless. I hope to be able to enjoy your work with Ad Infinitum for many years to come. Thank you! Well, I jumped from a six string to an eight string too. It's possible but I needed a few months to find a "concept" how I approach this instrument. It's not the same playing style you have on a six string. But once you find out, it's a lot of fun and an inspiration machine for writing metal riffs :)

I'm just a stupid hobbyist who can barely play the guitar, but I went from six, to seven and then to eight and I barely touch the seven strings since I got the eight. Perhaps you'll be a bit more confused at first, but that's not a real reason to step into the seven strings realm first. If you want eight, go for eight.
