Hi Tom. Great video. In regards to the power, if going the same route as yourself with the LiIon backpack, will this always draw power until dead as there is no on/off switch added?

May be you can start from here, tinkercad.com, they got a simulator for you to learn making your own project. I just got my arduino starter kit to learn how to connect these things , and build my lightsaber in the future. Good luck with it and may the force be with you.

You can use windows 10, but it just adds a .wav to the file when you already saved it as .wav, giving filename.wav.wav; so you will have to rename the files deleting the first .wav It is on another youtube video.

is there a board that has only one sound - i was thinking to setup speaker and sound modules and placing them under the layout t create ambient sounds i can run on loop or trigger - 16mb seems overkill for location based ambient sounds?

how do i get an interrupting effect, like for example when I press trigger 1 and while it is playing I may be able to interrupt it by pressing trigger 2, is this possible ?
@tmc200527
@tmc200527 6 жыл бұрын
I think the way the sound board is designed once you trigger an audio file to play you can't stop it or play another sound at the same time. If you use two boards that would give you more options to mix sounds. You could somehow interrupt the output from getting to the speaker if you want to prematurely stop the audio from playing before the file plays to the end.

They have a 2 MB version Good for a few minutes of compressed stereo, and maybe half a minute of uncompressed stereo. Double that if you go with mono instead of stereo. The 16 MB version is good for 15 minutes of compressed stereo, and maybe a couple minutes of uncompressed stereo. Double that if you go with mono instead of stereo. That info is from Adafruit website.

Can't you solve the problem of Windows not recognizing the sound board, when LiPo was connected, by installing the switch on the charger board that you mentioned?

You helped me get this far due to your vid and i thank you mucho! Adafruit is a good site but they assume a lot about the customers knowledge, they offer no wiring info, or help on the Audacity site that i could find, so your the hero! Im just not trying to work out the sound files if you could offer some more assistance, and i would really like to know what that sound is your doing....robot walking? Cant peg it.

Would it loop the audio file seamlessly? Let's say I have an audio file that is a 500ms tone of say 200hz end-to-end no silence, just a pure tone. Would it loop the audio file so if I hold down a button for say 10 seconds I hear 10 seconds of 200hz?
@tmc200527

Here is a list of trigger modes available. There are two looping modes 1. Basic Trigger - name the file Tnn.WAV or Tnn.OGG to have the audio file play when the matching trigger pin nn is connected to ground momentarily 2. Hold Looping Trigger - name the file TnnHOLDL.WAV or .OGG to have the audio play only when the trigger pin is held low, it will loop until the pin is released 3. Latching Loop Trigger - name the file TnnLATCH.WAV or .OGG to have the audio start playing when the button is pressed momentarily, and repeats until the button is pressed again 4. Play Next Trigger - have up to 10 files play one after the other by naming them TnnNEXT0.WAV thru TnnNEXT9.OGG. Will start with #0 and each one on every momentary button press until it gets through all of them, then go back to #0 5. Play Random Trigger - just like the Play Next trigger, but will play up to 10 files in random order (TnnRAND0.OGG thru TnnRAND9.OGG) every time the button is pressed momentarily Here is a link to the Adafruit information www.adafruit.com/product/2220

Hey, nice work ! I try to do the same (without the backpack) with 2x CR2032 for the battery, and it doesn't work.... the sound stay only 3 seconde before stopping. Is it because my tension is to high ? I have 6v (2x3v) I use this item for my batterie: @t When I try with an USB cable form my laptop (5v), it work well... Thx for your help...

I am trying to find a way to put sound into my lightsaber. I was thinking about doing this with the chip in your video and an accelerometer. I see in a comment that this cannot play more than one sound at a time. Do you know of a sound board that is as small as this one that can play multiple sounds at the same time and be activated with an accelerometer?

Here is a link to some information that might help. forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=275524.0 To play multiple sounds simultaneously with just using the arduino to trigger it seems you would have to use multiple FX sound boards for the number of sounds you want to play at the same time.

what is the frequency range of the sound board? Thanks!
@tmc200527
@tmc200527 6 жыл бұрын
The sound board has a version with a built in audio amplifier and one without so it would depend on the frequency range of the audio amplifier but the audio module used is the VS1000. Here is a link to it's specs www.vlsi.fi/fileadmin/modules/vs1000mod.pdf. It has this info on page 7 The maximum sample rate that can be played with correct speed is XTALI/256. With 12 MHz XTALI sample rates over 46875 Hz are played at 46875 Hz. Here is the link to the Adafruit sound board specs. learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-audio-fx-sound-board/downloads.
