I totally get the point about forgetting to dream. I got caught up in chasing men that didn’t want me and a job that’s making me brain dead. I stopped chasing the men and got comfortable with me. Now I am working on the income part. Stay tuned!

As a 62 year old divorcee who was the caregiver for both parents until the end of last year when my Dad died, all while having NINE other siblings not help, I so needed to listen to this! I just started to get back into working on Me and trying to figure out which country to move to!! Thank you so much for your encouraging words!!🫶🏾🫶🏾

I am sorry to hear that. I worked with the elderly population for years & typically saw one dedicated adult child with uninvolved siblings. I wish you the best in your next "you focused" chapter. 😊

My hold ups are, which one of my gifts can and will i turn into income to live abroad. and family.

You don't have to monetize your gifts. A job can be just a job that pays the rent.

#replay. I am so glad that I have listened to this thoroughly. You spoke to me about the inability to dream and moving forward in the areas that I can. I am going to check out the timing for the NC retreat. Thank you Adalia for the time, transparency and pouring in to help others to their wholeness.

You look great. I’m watching in the future. I am sharing. I’m 75 years young and found Stephanie Perry, Roshida, you, Our Black Utopia, etc..over three years ago . You all have greatly improved my life with a wealth of information and joy for what you all do. I only wanted to just travel, never thought about moving from the US. I was inspired by you all. Thought…maybe I won’t be able to move, but I will scout some places out just in case and just become a frequent traveler to wherever. I did the Move to Portugal Summit, I am visiting Portugal in May for 28days to go to the June Meet-up with Our Black Utopia. Just getting on Facebook, is a stretch for me. I am not computer savvy nor do I want to be. I am also an introvert. Asking strangers for help has always been difficult. But, I am doing sooo many things that are a stretch for this trip. Thank you for being you and learning to dream. Thank you for leaving the US. What you did has inspired so many to just do something. I am one of those.

I made the decision to leave and “blow up my life” this fall. That was the “easy” part. But now I have to sell my house and figure out what’s next. I know generally that I’m moving abroad, but I worry if I have enough $, how long will it take to get residency wherever I choose, how to still work for now and do all this prep (as my job takes up wayyyy tooo much space in my life and leaves me no time to do anything else). I’m motivated but just the amount I have to get done to get there is daunting. I’m fortunate enough to have a lot of folks backing me up and rooting for me- I’m so grateful for that. And I have a tiny safety net if it falls apart…I’m trying to keep all of that in mind as I figure all of this out.

Fear generally, and fear of moving forward. I too have lived a dreamless adult life after I achieved my professional goals. Now, 34+ yrs in, it’s time to take the freedom leap. Yet I’m stifled for the first time in life, indecision & unknowns are stifling my decision to embrace freedom. Unknown, undefined freedom.

Wow, it's like you're speaking to me. I spent my whole life prioritizing everyone over myself, always sacrificing my own needs and dreams, and having them guilt trip me for want to choose myself for once. This year I got to make the change, I want to live for me and pursue my own happiness. Thank you Adalia! I really needed to hear this! ❤

In my family the tradition is to be a teacher. My mom forced me to become a teacher while I wanted to be a psychologist. Long story short I did become one & struggled in the profession. I don’t have the desire anymore to become a psychologist because I would have to go back to school. It may sound hypocritical of me but this career made me dislike the idea of school & I don’t like kids all that much. I’ve now discovered that I am not a career oriented person. My dream is to be a traditional housewife & make enough in my portfolio through dividends.

What's stopping me? Remodeling my home to sell it here in SC. And then putting it on the market. So once it sells, I'm headed to GDL to see if that's where I'm going to settle in Mexico. Also, need to get my Temporary residency.

Be sure to examine if the renovations you're considering are nice to have or a necessity. If you won't see a big ROI maybe you can skip them and keep the money for your move.

Thank you for this Adalia! You speaking of not trusting that things will work out in your favor really resonates w/me. Even though I'm in the process of changing, it's undeniable that a little voice still wants to say... "You really think you are going to somehow find some joy in this life... after all this time and all your disappointments?" The voice is a lot smaller than it used to be though. Right now hangups are - where should I move and how I'm going to fund my life... (in a non-traditional way that doesn't suck my soul dry)?❤
