He is praising the King Of Zazzau. This is present-day Zaria in Kaduna State of Nigeria. He sings of the beauty of the palace and the beautiful women just like Queen Amina of then Zaria. He says just like the horse's hoof can never thin out, that is how the king's majesty can not be thinned out. He calls him the king who wears the iron slippers. He calls him the intestine of the Ostrich which can not be eaten. He calls him the one who makes the snake clear a part as the king passes. Then he tells of his visit to the palace, he was adorned greatly but could not be allowed to discuss with the beautiful women he saw as his religion did not permit such dalliance. Calls Him pepper soup made with scorpions, not edible at all. He also told about how the palace was so large, he was confused about who exactly the king was because of how beautiful all the palace dwellers were. He introduced himself to the men he met sitting at a palace and asked if they were the king's court men. They told him no and directed him to the correct part. He finally made it to the presence of the king and kept praising him. Most of what he says are titles and praises in very stringent Hausa language, unfortunately, my knowledge ended there. Thanks to my mum for taking her time to read us “Magana Jari Che “ each night while growing up. Hausa stories are rich in wisdom and cultural excellence. I hope you enjoy the song more through this little translation.
