Still the Best! Loved this when it first went out on radio and this animation is brilliant! We can never say bedding in our house without saying Wedding Bedding Lorra Lorra

Some of the work turned out by A&J rivals some of Graham Linehan's work in terms of ludicrous, unbridled silliness and joy. "Lorra lorra, blinda data" alone is one of the silliest things I've heard in years. But I obviously love it, because not only does my phone not try to correct me when I write "blinda", it suggests I follow it with "data". As for the animation, lovely.

Super bonus find here - I had no idea this existed and just listened to this episode for the 100th time lately (mentile). If I tried to explain this to people I couldn't. So I won't. Thanks for posting! xxXXooXXOOO

I've started saying mentile, that's the sign you've consumed too much Adam and Joe

@@RickyStevens94 That's so true. I'm going to confess that at one point I was maybe getting a little obsessive... During my daily commute I was listening to the edited 6 music shows (NOT the podcasts of course) in strict chronological order on an endless loop - I would start with the initial Shaun Keaveney cover shows and would run through them until I got to the last show :( I would then start right back with the Keaveney's... This way I got to hear how ideas like the Song Wars /Her Royal Maj/ Taffin/ Boggins/ Stephen!/ Adam's Top Hat/ etc. were born from the smallest of observations and then took on a life of their own... evolving over time to the point where it is hard to explain stuff like this to 'outsiders'... *sigh* Good old Cornballs and Buckules... has it really been nearly 8 years..?

Joe Cornish addresses the Queen as "your Highness" whereas the monarch should always be addressed as "your Majesty", and he was educated at Westminster School!. Shame on him.

this is amazing. can anyone explain the origin of Joe's impression? I.e how the fuck did they end up with this cilla black patois thing?
@dangale1236 жыл бұрын
blueluny This is me mansplaining I’m afraid. They we’re discussing Blind Date on the radio and said it was hosted by The Queen instead of The Queen of British TV (Cilla’s role at the time). Adam pointed out that the announcer of the show, “Our Graham”, used to over emphasise the first D and the gap between the title words so as not to say “Blinedate” which actually made it sound as if he was saying “Blinda Date”. Adam started to do a mock semi-Italian voice based on how (Liverpudlian) Cilla Black would speak if she was The Queen and it spiralled out of control beautifully from there.
@skylined5534 Жыл бұрын
@@dangale123 That's a great breakdown of how they arrived at this brilliant lunacy but it definitely isn't defined as the pejorative term 'mansplaining'. Yours pedantically, Ann Orse.

The thing I love the most is that Buckles comes across as such a massive Guardian reader, with occasional accompanying hand-wringing, but ... then does these amazing sketches which could, in some corners, [and lets be honest twitter, are], taken as a teeny bit racialist. Its like two halves of him publicly fighting with one another.
@skylined5534 Жыл бұрын
I think the word you wanted to use would be 'racialistic'. And in other news, what the hell are you talking about?
@kipsome453 жыл бұрын
Why has Adam toned down his Queen of late? She now just sounds mildly scouse, and not nearly as funny.
