The film and this BTS are fantastic. Unity is a great engine but has gotten a bad rap in the last few years because of the abuse by some game developers, but it's great to see it being used in such an artful manner.

I think they have at least 1 or 2 more episodes for this project due to the many different scenes (3:55, 5:46, 7:27, 8:25, 9:48) in this BTS that's not in Adam, parts 1 or 2.
@IsaakWolf7 жыл бұрын
They do what i was merely stating is that this seems like something the studio is much more invested in. I was aware they had a few vids planned for it but this was the dream of neil. Plus they're still trying to figure out how to make money returns. since the studio is hemorrhaging money at the moment.

"Final Fantasy" used cutting edge CGI to tell the story and it nearly broke Sony Entertainment. Producers are in the business to make movies that people want to see, not movies about angsty cyborgs, good movie or not. We're not the average movie goers. They want "Fast and the Furious" part 27.

Make no mistake, this production costs a lot of money, they are using the best equipment money can buy, but the imagination and knowledge of said equipment makes this seem a type of spare no expense endeavor, to Neil's credit the last few videos shorts have excellent quality but still limited to the available technology, which hopefully keeps up with the minds putting together these visually stunning pieces, keep them going, watched them all and want to see more.

Games, film, tv merging together... That's what Hideo Kojima said about Death Stranding, though he added books and a music album into that mix too. Computer animation, games and the possibilities of real time rendering invite all manner of possibilities. Like that upcoming VR game that puts you in the role of an actor on stage, with other actual actors in real time.

Unity has got a bad rep thanks to the scummy and lazy developers who copy and paste each other's templates (known as 'asset flips'), but stuff like this shows what the engine is truly capable of if actual effort is put into it. I'd love it if they actually released the film's data to render in real time on my PC, it would be a treat to watch that same content in the future at 4k 60 fps :D

I like your stuff man. I even met ya once at a bar then after sat in restaurant talked. Was in Chilliwack, BC Canada. I do not remember who was with ya. But they said they were also in the tv industry. But you worked on stargate and sorry that was cooler than what the other person did. This was sometime after Stargate got canceled and you were talking about going back to south africa to do your first film. I was excited to meet you after i found out you worked on stargate, my girlfriend didnt care. I was geeking out. You were not famous yet, but to me someone that was into computer graphics and did it for a living was really cool. I was impressed with the work you did on stargate. I did not realize until after seeing District 9 that is was you that directed that film. You were pretty cool person then and thankyou for bringing this studio to BC also. I want to see you make an epic video game, that has a great story and visuals. I would like to see sequel to District 9 please... Or a Prequel first then a sequel.

This was amazing to watch, I had a little project recently where I also did a kinda film/game mix in Unreal Engine in Virtual Reality and we also used photogrammetry and wanted to use motion capture as well but we ran out of time, so I had to create some fast provisional animations myself, 2 days before we showed the project to an audience. I would've continued with it, but my team wasn't really helping much. But seeing this, man I wish I could join you with your unusual short films :D
