Pat Rioux they were happy go lucky “live let live” underdogs back then. They’re NOT underdogs now. They have the proverbial “ring” and they’ve decided to use it. There’s a lot more incredibly fragile leftists in high places that have zero problems destroying people who won’t follow the dogma of the day. And it changes daily depending on who/what needs to be destroyed. It’s not good. They’re behaving like religious zealots because that’s what they are.

They brought up Larry Flint... funny they did that. There was a movie about freedom of speech and expression in the 90s that was meant paint Flint as a victim of public/government organized shaming and disenfranchisement. He was peddling sex and nudity. He was anti regulation in that space and he was a target of mobilized groups you might consider conservative. The left put that message out. Now that they have the power they’re writing the moral codes and they’re more than happy to reverse prior positions on issues at the drop of a hat to kick someone out of the circle of trust if they’re “problematic”. This is East Germany social regulatory dogma. Don’t agree? Mkay no access to the public space for you. I’m starting to think liberal just means the group that’s not currently in charge of the social regulations.

@@michaelharold1334 Brilliant observations, I'm a liberal in the classic 1970's 80's definition, but today that makes me a far right conservative. It's funny how all my liberal friends don't see how much they've changed to go along with the current popular narratives. The ones that do acknowledge they're a bit different admit only that they "evolved". They say it's healthy to adjust your opinions as you grow and it's a sign that you're intelligent and willing to change and not be a "dick". Again, that view in itself is a brainwashed opinion as I've heard it bandied about by the mainstream media social pundit police. My opinion back to them is that they are disappointing weak sheep that are afraid to go against the grain of media propaganda to the point that they now are slaves to the corporate globalist agenda. It's silly to think that it's healthy to adjust your opinions and change your philosophy in radical ways when your new beliefs are not healthy and in fact counterproductive to the success your society. Again though, most won't even admit they have changed.

No problem with that. They’re capitalists. Really really good ones. Very wealthy. Who with brains isn’t into using money to trade or get into office. The Clintons...they’re Reagan Republicans with more Hollywood love. They could be Christian conservative in the 90s. Bill Clinton isn’t an ideological politician never was. He’s a business man. So is Hillary. They sell what sells. My bitch isn’t politics it’s the “overall” power thing. It’s the attitude of the CEOs, arts, science etc that is really important. Not politics. Clearly. The most effective weapon against any celebrity or public figure you are opposed to is NOT give them any attention or publicity good or bad. The most effective weapon is to ignore them, not speaking out against them. Don't like Louis CK, don't watch him. Don't post his videos with your comments. Silence is truly a fame killer......FYI I think Louis CK is a great contemporary comedian.

Bob Dylan & Frank Zappa (amongst others) always had a huge issue w/unauthorized recordings of "raw" rehearsals or live shows of "developing" material released as bootlegs which they felt didn't live up to their standards of what they wanted released. The Grateful Dead embraced these bootlegs & developed their fan base because of it.

I'm a liberal but I'm of the belief that nobody has the right to never be offended. When you step out into the real world the vast majority of people don't give a shit about your feelings.

The fucking persecution of comedians...give me a break. To perform is a choice, to write "edgy" jokes is a choice, nobody is trying to take that choice away but once the choice is made then they comedian is open to criticism, boycott whatever. If you cant take the heat then get out the kitchen. Complaining and trying to have it both ways where you can say obnoxious shit and not catch any gruff is fucking child shit. If you dont like how parts of the public don't like your joke then the reasonable thing to do is to ignore them or don't tell that joke. Yall are the ones getting your panties in a twist about other people getting their panties in a twist. I guess this is a radio show that needs to fill time and pass comment on everything but be adults and take responsibility for the words you chose to say, especially if you think they will piss someone off. I was probably expecting too much to have Adam Corolla give an intelligent thoughtful response.

Anyone standing up for Louis C.K is an angel in my books. Shame on everyone who is silent on the issue, and especially on those who are after Louis CK's life. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil (the hyper-liberal "woke" crowd) is for good men to do nothing

I liked Louie's bit as it was. It doesn't have to be perfect to be funny. Louie is himself and after everything to date, he's still who he has always been. Keep on trucking my dude.

90% of good comedy pushes us past our comfort zone. I have no problems with Louis CK. If the audience doesnt find the joke funny, the comedian is going to work it out of their routine. They keep what we laugh at.

Sides have already been taken in this fight, and the people who like Louis will always like Louie and the people who hate Louis will always hate him. This publicity mainly serves to fire up the Louie fan base.
@Macabrebifidus375 жыл бұрын
Comedians can joke about whatever they want. But they have to be aware of backlash and hate from people. Some people will laugh at and embrace the Louis CK humour. But you gotta be prepared to accept the fact that your humour isnt for everyone, and that there are people who will hate you and your material. To say that comedians cant joke about anything anymore is BS. If it bothers you, then dont listen to them. Dont seek them out. Move along and live.

The guy who leaked Louis's set was a fan. He definitely shouldn't hv done it but dont think he was the Louis 'police'..just a fan who recorded his set. Personally, I laughed my ass off and really love Louis ck
@drewdriskall35 жыл бұрын
If the recorder was a fan, this seems to reveal how blind Louis CK fanboys are to the comedian's increasingly toxic takes. How could he not see that punching down on the Parkland survivors might be a bad take to try to draw cheap laughs?
@edgardomartin82995 жыл бұрын
@@drewdriskall3 its only bad because he is making his comeback, if he did that joke about a shooting 10 years ago, there wouldn't be such a big deal. I agree that it shuldnt have been leaked, but because he is radioactive right now. People have to chill the F down (or is it up?).

The issue isn't his comedy. the issue is he used his position to sexually harrass/assault women who worked for him or he had professional power over, and people feel he hasn't paid a sufficient price for that.

people's outrage is misdirected. If they're outraged about school shootings how is it a comedian's fault? If anything, comedians are keeping the topic relevant in order to fix it....

Funny as fuck that this bootleg audio recording was one of the best comedy sets in the past few years from any comic and all these Netflix specials are just filled boring, safe, lame jokes. This controversy freed Louis to explore topics that are actually hilarious.
