I'm impressed. It's brave to take on his father's masterpiece. And if he doesn't have his father's gravitas---YET--he exudes a joy that Leonard struggled his whole life to find. Adam grew up in a long shadow, but he steps out and, with no sense of entitlement, just performs beautifully. No one else can be Leonard Cohen (how weird would that be, anyway?). But his son Adam is a talent and I look forward to hearing much more from him.

And back then, Leonard wrote her an elegy for Marianne, in wich he said something like "don't worry, I'll be joining you soon". Which he did! Kinda creepy but heart touching too! May both rest in peace.

I do hope Adam learns to continue to embrace his father's songs, because he's the perfect vessel to carry Leonard's songs into the future. We have such a weird hang-up about "cover songs" today, even though that was the musical norm for thousands of years. Folk music is all about passing down the tales of our ancestors, and maybe adding a few pages to the songbook before we pass on.

Gracias MAESTRO LEONARD COHEN

i think that if adam cohen maybe hasn't inherited from his father the power to embrace the show as a magic door to perform a deeper level of comunication, maybe this is not to be blamed solely to him but rather to the fact that there is an abyssal difference between the hunger of soulfully intense material showed by his father audience and the shameles inertia of nowdays distracted one.

I always thought Adam was Leonard's son from his 1st marriage to a woman named Suzanne. (coincidence). Lorka (?), is his daughter from his 1st marriage. There is another baby involved that isn't L.C's, although Leonard accepted "Axl" & helped raise him. This happened when he went to Greece for almost a year to find a place for he & Marianne to live.
@lilise39657 жыл бұрын
I'm afraid not. Vocally, the comparison is most unfavourable. He should keep it simple, at least.
@mariankeogh2417 жыл бұрын
Marianne had just left her husband and had a 6 months old baby by him. This is the baby Axel, that Leonard raised with Marianne. Leonard never married anyone much less Marianne, They were together 7 years and he cheated on Marianne and she left when Suzanne Elrod turned up with baby Adam and asked Leonard when was Marianne leaving She left immediately taking Axel. Suzanne Moved in and also has his daughter Lorca. end of. Hope this helps

He has his father's sense of humour, and charm and yes that vibe us ladies can't resist. I miss Leonard so much, but blessedly Adam is young and so talented- I wonder if he can act? He is so handsome, and his lyrics explore the vagaries of the human heart- is that Leonard's didn't mean to steal it or mess it up- emotion still runs high, it has been nearly 3 years and I still cry most days and his birthday is coming up, Sept 21- will I bake a cake, doubt it! Like Master Cohen I have a sweet tooth! Namaste Adam
