Definitely! They're crazy tight! One of the best live bands hands down!
@TheRandomSpectator8 жыл бұрын
can you explain that sentence for someone who doesn't play drums?
@stickwithit8 жыл бұрын
TheRandomSpectator as you can see in some points of the song. the singer will reach over and grab the cymbal, stopping it from making sound. this is called choking the cymbal. it takes good timing for them to pull off cleanly.
@cooliocaptin5177 жыл бұрын
Diddy In the Composure drum cam you can see Adam very quickly choking cymbals and it’s hardly noticeable hat he does so that’s not the issue it’s probably them just having fun

Adams ghost notes have always been legendary
@rogerrabbit29027 жыл бұрын
I always feel this legend Adam Gray has much control in his play, especially on blast beats and rolls. Much more easier to see, Matt seems to stiff out on the blasts but other than that they're both legends
@smartparts133 жыл бұрын
What’s so amazing about this video is you can literally see how relaxed both Matt and Adam are. Adam is so incredible - he knows this is integral piece of Matt’s playing and to see him get so good at being so relaxed when playing such choppy lines in Matt’s wake is truly what mastery of your craft looks like.

Years later I come back to this video just because of how Adam accents the intro tribal beat. Not to mean that Matt isn't a great drummer as both are inspirations to my play style. I've always loved their works. This is just my favorite way that it's been played.
@MessianicChristianFollowship862 жыл бұрын
They are far too similar don't you think?
@ChandlerDaughtryTTDxEpiphany2 жыл бұрын
@@MessianicChristianFollowship86 the reason they are similar is because they've shared the same positions. Matt fill in for Adam, Adam fill in for Matt, both have teched for each other too. If you see ABR live these days. Adam is usually doing sound check and everything before they hit the stage

Man, I Love both Matt and Adam. But Adam gives the song more of a fuller sound. even tho Matt made this beat originally for this song. Adam brings a deferent touch. I like the way Adam plays it more. IMO. Both drummers are beast tho.

@adamgereluk64778 жыл бұрын
I didn't mean it as an insult more of an observation and I'm not talking about automated panning its constant through the whole video. Most of the cymbals and kick are on the right and the rest is on the left. The industry doesn't change unless someone experiments with old techniques.
@stickwithit8 жыл бұрын
adam gereluk oh gotcha, i try to get the best angle for people to learn the songs if they want to so that contributes a lot to my framing. thanks for watching!

He was on his honey moon after getting married just before tour. Adam filled in for the first week. The band was super transparent and supportive of him joining them for the week.
@TheRandomSpectator8 жыл бұрын
And so they should be! I know TIJ and ABR (and specifically Adam and Matt) were good friends, and very similar sound wise. So if you want anyone filling in for Matt, you want Adam. I can't count how many times I've seen them compared as equals.

TRXdrummer they have 2 different styles. They both have filled in for each other. One is not “better” than the other. It’s the stupid coke vs Pepsi argument. Different formulas. People get all butt hurt and act like children with this shit like all the people who bitch and moan about how cliff burton was better than newstead. Comparing apples and oranges here people settle the fuck down
