I was never a fan of the way he delivered that "I love you" line. Perhaps because I genuinely HAVE said something along those lines without realising it (I was drunk), and when I realised I HAD actually said it, my reaction was more like "oh my God what have I just said"

It was the first song written from the show and as Adam continued to develop the story more and more he said it didn’t fit the storyline by the end of its creation.
