This was the infamous Royal Variety Performance where Adam was "owned" by The Queen with his own joke! You could see the slight snicker from the audience when Adam said "going home for a proper Christmas" and I could see the moment where he was thinking "do the artificial foot bit" and then you could tell he was well into a successful performance!

Fantastic guy. I so desperately wish I'd been able to get tickets the last time he was in Adelaide. They sold out quick-smart.

Adam has even called himself this so this isn't offensive, but that Heathrow/security joke works much better when he says "spastic" and not disabled guy. Love his work.

@JudgeMeUp Have you ever actually spent any time here? Ever ridden a bike along the Torrens on a perfect day? Ever gone into the Adelaide hills on a motorbike, just to see the scenery? We may not have anything flashy like a bridge or theme parks or whatever. But Adelaide is a quiet, peaceful city. Don't say anything against it until you've properly lived there.

@andrew8833 Yeah his stand up is quite awesome haha. So I'm guessing you're from England? :) Well I can highly recommend Australia to live but as it's the only place I've lived I might be a bit biased haha. And what do you want to move to Melbourne for?! (just joking). Again, I'm biased I'm from NSW... Yeah Adam deffo speaks his mind he doesn't hold back...:) Especially when talking about his foot- ahh priceless!

Well, burnt bales from the top of the cricket stump.

The full story is Australia beat England at cricket ages ago and the english burnt the stumps as a symbol of "the death of english cricket".... what pisses us aussies off is even when we win the ashes we dont get them.. not allowed to take them away from Lords.

SauronsLeftNut aahhhhhmight might wanna fact check there mate. I'm from Sunbury in Melbourne, where the ashes were born. it was a friendly game between a wealthy family and some english friends at rupertswood mansion. the english won, and as a trophy the wife burned the stumps and put them in a pouch.

SauronsLeftNut TheAradiarose Actually hate to be that guy but you're both kind of wrong. In 1882 Australia beat England on English soil. A newspaper at the time stated, satirically, that this was the death of English cricket, and that the body should be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia. The 82/83 series was associated with the ashes after the then captain Ivo Bligh vowed to "regain those ashes". The series was then dubbed "The quest to regain the ashes". When England won, a group of Melbourne women presented Bligh with an urn which apparently contained the ashes of a burnt bail and was called "the ashes of Australian Cricket". That's how The Ashes was born.

dude, i LIVE in the town where this happened, its part of our local history, i think i would know. "More recent researchers, in particular Ronald Willis[8] and Joy Munns[9] have studied the tour in detail and concluded that the presentation was made after a private cricket match played over Christmas 1882 when the English team were guests of Sir William Clarke, at his property "Rupertswood", in Sunbury, Victoria. This was before the matches had started. The prime evidence for this theory was provided by a descendant of Clarke."

Yup, it's MY opinion. You wrote yours down, so I wrote mine. As I wrote, I don't mean to offend you. It is MY opinion. And I am allowed to share it just like you are allowed to share yours. Oh, and since when did I say what I said was the rule? There are better comedians that Adam Hills, no doubt, just like there are better comedians than Dave and Carl. But It's up to YOU and ME to decide who we think is better or worse. And in my opinion, Adam is a whole lot better than Dave Hughs.
