Just the note - Adam has his solo carier too, I´ve seen 4 concerts on his latest solo tour in Europe. He just had to schedule his own tour dates and QAL tour dates to be able to do them both. From my point of view what I admire on Adam is his vocal ability to sing perfect even when he is ill, he just starts to use different techniques and makes less vocal trips, so Glamberts usually recognize it already but a regular concert goer doesn´t hear any problem. I remember when thay had to cancel one concert in Europe, we heard it even via stream from Frankfurt that Adam was changing technique and that it meant that he had a problem (Brian was ill too some days sooner). But the audience didn´t recognize it that night. The concert videos from Frankfurt 7.2.2015 is on KZbin, that was the concert I am talking about. The concert in Brussel 8.2.2015 was canceled and than he was OK in Milano 10th. Adams vocal ability based on the vocal training is one of his trademark. BTW, he is able to sing even 5-6 full long concert a week. Brian said that Freddie was able to sing just two in a week because he had not properly trained voice.

Oh for sure. Freddie sang so hard, especially in the 80's, that his voice would crack, and go, so he needed time to recover. In fairness, all singers do, but there are things that touring vocalists do to help preserve their voice. Smoking, partying, and drugs are not part of it. Room temperature water, tea with lemon, plenty of sleep, and very little talking when you aren't on stage are great ways to keep your voice healthy.

You haven't seen Marc' s concerts, have you? It is Lambert who is extremely boring. He stands on heels and sings and sometimes he lays on a piano (the only thing he can do with an instrument). On the other hand Marc sings, plays the piano, the guitar, dances, runs and he isn't boring at all, he is fantastic on a stage.

That was the most touching performance of the entire show for me. I love it to this day.
@TheLambertLover4 жыл бұрын
Not convinced George could sing the whole catalog. He lowered the key of Somebody to Love and claims it was the hardest song he's ever sung. Adam does it in the original key in a two hour show, on back-to-back nights, several times a week. Are there videos of him singing something like Stone Cold Crazy, Tie Your Mother Down, and I Want it All? Even Marc doesn't sing Stone Cold Crazy. In QEX they had the drummer sing it.
@ShaunStackhouse4 жыл бұрын
You could be right, but unfortunately we will never truly know. All I know is that George was a very accomplished vocalist, but not everyone is suited to sing Freddie night after night.
@joannemagee13634 жыл бұрын
George had so much riding on that performance , his lover had just been diagnosed hiv+ , he was asked to perform one of his favorite songs in front of a huge crowd. This performance was for Freddie who he loved and admired, Anselmo who he knew he was losing and to do tribute to the beautiful gift of George’s voice and the amazing song Brian asked him to sing. Watch the rehearsal where seal and sting are Rockin out watching george do his bit for his guys. Amazing.

Nothing against Martel. I started to appreciate Lambert after watching a live show and liked him more after “Show Must Go On” documentary. I wasn’t aware of the rivalry till recently. But I find Martel’s fans move to petition for Adam to be fired and replace by Martel highly offensive. It’s one thing for people like yourself who respectfully asked for one show or collaboration with Martel. That’s respectable, but to insult the present singer and ask that he be replaced when he’s clearly doing a good job (and got along with Brian and Roger) is low and turns me off. Clearly they must have pissed Brian and Roger off as well. Roger was pretty brutal on his comments on that documentary. When I found those petitions I understood why he said those things. Martel’s rude fans must have truly annoyed them Unfortunately those a**hole fans would be the reason why Roger and Brian won’t likely give in. Queen clearly loves Adam and are protective. It’s not Martel’s fault but perhaps he should have asked those idiots to stop and also pull down those petitions out of respect to his fellow artist and also avoid earning the ire of Queen. They should have just asked for a tour stint with Martel without dissing Lambert. Now he damage is done.

I agree, and I definitely don't blame Marc. Marc has said that he couldn't be happier doing what he does, and isn't interested in replacing Adam. The rivalry is definitely between a portion of the fans, which is sad. As we've seen in recent years, even a long-term fandom of something in pop culture can turn toxic, and I think that's what's at least partially responsible here as well.
@rubyjanewalkr22904 жыл бұрын
It’s truly sad Marc doesn’t seem to have a PR person to help handle fans or disassociate him from fans’ toxic behavior. Pretty sure Lambert does- so perhaps his fans might be equally toxic but I haven’t seen his fandom come together to try pull something that bad. Mostly see some individuals trolling but nothing on coming together to put someone down publicly in the some twisted show of support. Just a thought if a fandom targets someone best ensure that someone is not likable enough to turn neutrals to support the other guy. I like Lambert’s covers but not his solo work (EDM is not something I enjoy) but seeing the uncalled for flack he gets. I now want to support him.

Before you totally write of Adam's solo work, I highly recommend checking out his 2020 album Velvet. It has a very old school feel to it with an updated touch. He released several videos for it right around the time the pandemic hit.

Plan to. Any suggestions? The last song that really wowed me was Dusk till Dawn by Zayn and Sia (it was not highly promoted but I’m not the only one wowed it seemed- as it has over a billion views on you tube and streams in Spotify... ). if he doesn’t have anything like that I guess Ballads are a safe bet. Because Adam has such a beautiful tone and control and love his take on Believe by Cher (beautiful and the emotions on point)

Not to knock Marc, but it sounds like he strains too much at times. Adam has much better flow and control over his voice. @@ShaunStackhouse Good to know that, I just saw too many youtubers lie for subs, and I just loathe that. And to explain what I mean, I heard some of Marc's studio version of Queen's songs, some of them sounds pretty good, but when it comes to the live version just like in the video, he made so many obvious mistakes and strained a lot especially on those high notes, even lost the rhythm on some tune. Left alone the personal taste stuff, and just from a vocal ability, stage presence and technique perspective, Adam just annihilated him. I just think Adam deserves more credit.
