Do you hear Eleanore Rigby quote as well? (And keep the requests coming so I can plan more solo analysis videos!)

Would be really cool to see some rhythm analysis on Prince of Darkness by Miles Davis, or anything off of the sorcerer album, really. There isn't actually guitar on there but the second Miles Davis Quintet is just so rhythmically interesting. Also curious to know what you think of that era of Miles Davis albums.

Actually I talk about that quintet really often? Once every 5 videos or so 🙂

Adam Rogers is one of the best guitarist on the scene today. When the really big name guitarist feel like taking a lesson, Adam is the guy they call. My teacher told me Adam is also a scary good sight reader part of why he works so much. Glad you did a lesson on Adam.

Great lesson! I’ve started to realize that learning knew rhythmic ideas gets me out of my plateaus of playing the same kind of thing all the time. I’m definitely gonna be shedding the ideas in this lesson. I also plan to check out your patreon page to become a supporter. Thanks for educating us!

Jens Larsen I would love to see some videos about the soloing and harmony of guys like Cory Henry and Jacob Collier. There’s so many questions I have about what Cory is doing in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJSnqqmijr6JhMk But if that’s not up your alley another good one would be a side stepping lesson based on Scofield’s song “Do Like Eddie”.

as a matter of fact the F# over A7(half hole diminished or octatonic scale to combine it with F triad over A7 is something I am studying sometime on piano(and guitar) I never heard someelse so now I do, but the F over A7 could be seen as the dominant Vth step over Bbmelodic and Charlie Parker in Donna Lee uses it on the Eb7 in the theme. so of course because the tension of the octatonic or dimished F# is stronger it seems that he resolves but this is what I get out of it and where I associate it with..My wish is to be at any help...

Great lesson- more on rhythmic variety. Never heard of quarter note triplets. And what is an upside down triplet? Got to get these concepts down and into my playing.
@JensLarsen5 жыл бұрын
I actually talk about them and write it out in the video right? 🙂 It's not that difficult 👍

also interesting how he uses the same diminished and the same #VI Triad A over C7 and F# over A7 maybe because he did that in C already he changes that down to F triad?

Hi Jens, that’s a great Video! Would you find it interesting to make a video to teach a single song? Because i would really like to play the song „In your own sweet way“ , the way Wes Montgomery played it... and there aren‘t good teaching videos or free sheets online to learn that song, and only by ear it‘s a little bit difficult :-) So if you are interested, i think that would make a good video 👍🏼

Actually if you look a little closer I think you can find a decent transcription of it 🙂

Your videos are really useful, happy I found your channel, I just ordered the book, looking forward to reading it. I've bumped into a video by Emily Remler kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKXGZKZ7fa6BeK8 and I can't stop listening to it. It occurred that in jazz rarely anyone talks about female musicians. Well it's probably because there aren't that many. She maybe could be a future video idea?

Thank you! That's very nice of you to say so! Emily Remler is indeed a good topic for a video :) This version of Softly with the ascending bass is one of my favourites 🙂
