Couldn't agree with you more. I've got a pair of Dynaudio BM12 Mk III monitors that I use also and I always go back to the S2Vs.....amazing performers.

Thx for the review. It was very detailed and good. Im planing to buy the S2V:s and hooking them up to a Roland quad capture with a XLR / TRS Vovox Sonorus driect S cable. Then the Roland quad capture is plugged in to the PC. Is my setup good enough to get the most out of these speakers? And what is the minimum listening distance for these speakers? They going to stand on my computer table and i will have a listening distance of around 80 - 90 cm from the speakers.

Hey! You can work everything else out, I am sure. Try different positions and decide with your ears. But make sure you have acoustic treatment. Bass traps in the corners and panels in the front and back at least. This will make a huge difference and even though everything else is important too, then the difference is non-existent compared to good treatment.

@@MusicSimplifiedMusic Okey 👍🏻 What kind of pads would you recommend for these spreakers? Im gonna use them as an everyday spreaker. Are they good for that or is there any other hifi hi end nearfield spekers that do the job better? And where can I find the best price for them? Music store have the best price I could find so far.

@@CarsAndMotorcycles I buy mine from Thomann. I do not have pad recommendations, I have not used any. I still think the well treated room is key. But I am sure pads will help a bit as well. There are a few alternatives that you can check out. 1) If your room is not well treated - Genelec 8340 + the DSP set. They have a very similar sound to the S2V. They sound a bit less controlled but their super comfortable DSP engine can offer you a better sound if your room is not supporting the S2V. Super easy to use and your speakers will sound similar in different rooms. 2) If your room is pretty big and very well treated - Eve Audio SC307 will be an extremely fun speaker for everyday listening and also pro work. But this is a much more demanding speaker as far as room treatment. You could not have these in a small space and your studio should be thoroughly treated. If your room treatment can be considered "okay" with bass traps + some acoustic panels and its size is close to an apartment living room, the go for the S2V.

I almost teared going from hs8’s to these. But...i had translation problems at first where my mix’s sounded a bit harsh on my phone, theres so much detail on the top end without distortion that when you play it on another system, it will sound sound harsh, when you get used to them....this is a powerful tool
@MusicSimplifiedMusic3 жыл бұрын
Makes a lot of sense, yep. It takes severeal months to get used to a new system.

It's not physically impossible to name two speakers in the same sentence ;)

Have you try to add some isoacustics pucks to them?

I used some sheets of neoprene (basically layers of rubber) for isolation. It will definitely offer some benefit but it will only be a small player in a much larger game of improving the sound in your room.. You really wanna do as much as possible with these speakers because the difference is unbelievably large once you got your room dialed in.
@MusicSimplifiedMusic3 жыл бұрын
It is definitely worth investing as much in your room and any sort of acoustic (and isolation) work as your wallet can handle. Once the room is dialed in these speakers are a different world.
