This film isn't about space or sci-fi or visual effects...if that is what you are looking for, move on. This film could be set in a myriad of settings...I'ts about the fragility and frailty of being human...and everything that comes with that. When I read the script before we started shooting, I was thinking my god I hope we don't fuck this up..because never had I read a script that resonated more with how I feel about so many things. Well Johan and the cast and everyone involved did not fuck it up...and I am very proud to have been a part of it. I have to admit I wasnt sure about Adam Sandler pulling off the role of Jakub...but he pulled it off and more. I've worked with Carey twice before and knew what she would bring other than her humanity...she is so authentic and I adore her. I remember talking to Johan one day about the script and the painful but hopeful theme of redemption and atonement...and whether indeed there are times when it's too late in life late for either.
