Have you tried using the cutting mat? I posted a video of how easily the markings scratch off. So it's a branded cutting mat that is less useful than most.

1 second ago So, after spending a little more time with it, I realized that the cardboard flats were not packing material...they were materials to make your own model of your home/shop/whatever. This makes it more project oriented, but it still amounts to more of a swag bag, I feel. A fairly expensive swag bag.

I think this is really neat - I considered buying it, and now I'm kinda bummed I didn't. But I didn't have a hundred bucks to spare. Ha. I think it's SO cool when you "know" Adam Savage - his first building material was corrugated cardboard, so obviously he would put that in a maker box! It's inexpensive, easy to work with and you can build almost anything, no matter your skill-level. I hear what y'all are saying about it being "cheap" - but I bet the tools are really good, and the real value is the care and love this has obviously been put together with, and I love the balance between "finished" project (the workshop) and the inspiration and materials to make stuff yourself!

I was very curious to know what it contained. I'm a bit dissapointed, the book is nice and maybe the mat but I was hoping for more tools. I was thinking about what I would put inside one of those boxes and there would definitively be a dremel, could be a small/cheap one to get people started, maybe a small multitool and I was expecting some out of the ordinary tool or material, something you didn't know you needed until you had it, but oh well.

"something you didn't know you needed until you had it"- exactly what I was hoping for. The fabric tape measure was the only thing that fit the bill (maybe the matt).

Nice mug! We see the reference to produce and Hair! When the Moon is in the seventh house and Satsuma aligns with Mars, then peace will guide the planets and love will steer the stars-This is the dawning of the age of asparagus!

To make the whole box would have been under $30 If I tried to sell you the same box you tell me to take a hike. Sucker punched by a name you thought you could trust.

Adam is so full of him self . sending a model of his shop.Lame. I would be upset spending 100 bucks for some crap i can get a hobby lobby for 30bucks. Sorry bro just my opinion

Fair enough. As a Tested.com fan (Adam's new gig), I have seen his shop over and over again in various videos and like having a miniature version to envy. However, I was expecting more to be sure.

What the heck have I gotten myself into? It all good . I'm just upset for the fans. I mean a cool pandoras box puzzle would be cool or even building a prop. But anyways take care

I was really hoping for a laser cut wooden build of something. Maybe in the next one...Ill post it when I get it in February (I'm guessing).
