Adam Scott Slept Through His First Day On 'Severance'

James welcomes Adam Scott and Joachim Trier - the Oscar-nominated director of "The Worst Person In The World" - who is making his first late night American TV appearance. But as it turns out, Joachim's no stranger to the late night tv biz having worked as a cameraman on a Norwegian show. Then Adam Scott reveals how excited he was to work with John Turturro and Christopher Walken on his Apple TV+ show "Severance" - only to sleep through his alarm on the first day of shooting.

There is something about this show…I don’t know if it’s the tempo, pacing, or what it is. I’m lulled asleep. It’s certainly not boredom. I’ve learned that with this particular show, I can only binge watch the episodes 2 at a time! Anything more & I will sleep right through it. I love it BTW!!

your 'outie" (the you that exists on the outside world) has actively decided to take this job, knowing where you have to show up each day and at what time. You get on the elevator as your outie, and when you exit onto the severed floor, your consciousness switches and your memories from the outside are erased. At the end of the day, you get back on the elevator, and when you exit, your memory from the workday is erased and from your "outie's" perspective. It's 9am-ish when you arive and 5-ish when you leave, but to your "outie" it's just going down the elevator and immediately going back up.
