Brilliant. And fast. You’ll think I’m proper crusty but I did this series the last BSB year in ‘99, the control rear tyre was awful, and no chicane which made the mountain left quite ballsy. Only comment here is surely you are giving away a few tenths into Hall Bends with the gearing? Great video. I can’t believe the bikes are still going. 😎

@@rigster2 thanks mate! Yeah the tyres have come on so much, it’s back to control now but I was on Supercorsas in this video. Good spot, I was definitely giving away a few tenths there, I do it a little differently now but it’s easy to make a mistake going up and down so fast while jumping around the bike, so a little less consistent doing it 😅

First time at cadwell next week for me on a cb, this is incredibly useful. Cheers mate 👍

Impressive riding there. I can't manage less than 1m50 on a carb R6 in inters group! Still a lot of fun around cadwell though.

Thanks Mick, still a respectable time 👌 all that matters is the fun part!

Alright Adam. Great video that, I was there that day. What I wanted to ask is what do you have your forks set to? Oil and air gap? My bike tends to weave a bit going up coppice🤦.
@AdamShelton618 ай бұрын
Hi mate! I stopped 95% of the weave by running 20 springs in the Hagon shocks and they have preload set to max, I'm 60kg so it's much stiffer than recommended, but they still work great with no issues with travel. Sometimes (Snetterton) I'll run them back into the middle preload setting to stop the tyre tearing so much, but not a problem at Cadwell. If I was any heavier I'd be going even stiffer.

@@AdamShelton61 Cheers for the reply. So you don't do anything with the front forks then? My rear shocks are set to the hardest setting, Im 80kg and they like to move a lot 😂 I'll check the spring rate on them, see if they can be changed.
@AdamShelton618 ай бұрын
@@SuggyRacing I run standard springs/17.5w/130 for me (still not ideal) but at 80kg I would probs run Hagon as you’ll be able to make use of the stroke with them. No matter the rear preload up Coppice once the rear breaks through into the stroke it’ll just keep doing it ‘til you go stiffer spring, maybe 22’s if you can get ‘em from Rob Carver 🙂

Have you done any mods to make it trackable? I have a standard CB500F 2015 with 50k miles on it 😂. I do frequent oil changes so it’s in good shape. I’d have to take the box of the back off … no it’s not deliveroo lol
@AdamShelton618 ай бұрын
It’s just built to the CB500 series spec, so the engine’s standard, it’s a bit lighter within the rules, basic suspension upgrades to suit the rider, brakes within the rules and that’s about it really! The series limit is 52bhp, you hear of engines pulled from burned out bikes with 150k miles still making over 50, so they really are bomb proof 😂 I don’t run the whole season these days, but it’s nice that anyone can build a competitive reliable bike cheaply to keep in the back of the garage and jump on any times. They should make top boxes mandatory for a bit of fun 😅

stock cb is 25 kg heavier ,have less lean angle cos worse suspesnion and lower footpeg ,beside stock breacs cable and breaks oil end after first 2-3 laps have 10% less power have slower tourist tire with 80 profile is probably like 10 -12 sec on this track behind ts spec cb 500 👌🏻☕️
