After seeing her and hearing her story on one of the local Tanzanian TV stations, Micshariki Africa teamed up with Adam Shule Kongwe (@adamshulekongwe3150) sometime last year to share her story through music. This coming together gave us the song Shujaa which was all about the non communicable disease Lupus. The song Shujaa is also found in the album Shule Na Shule.
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is the most common type of lupus. SLE is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks its own tissues, causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organs. It can affect the joints, skin, brain, lungs, kidneys, and blood vessels. There is no cure for lupus, but medical interventions and lifestyle changes can help control it.
Micshariki Africa later reached out to Hajrath Mohammed and through her foundation
Lupus Awareness And Support Foundation (LASF) (an NGO that deals with raising awareness about the Lupus disease in Tanzania) and together they came up with the song Shujaa 2 which was featured long time Micshariki Africa collaborator Adam Shule Kongwe with seasoned producer/singer/song writter Double Y aka Mnyama Double.
